Ok, in this point we have different ethics. For me it's part of responsibilty against the spirt. But a conjurer can say that he/she will do that.
For myself I thought a reading is part of the process to find the right match, about matching not safety.

I think my definition of a reading is different, maybe that’s why when it comes to Conjuration I typically do three kinds custom which I conjure using the provided info from the keeper , my pre existing knowledge of the person and their energy for the ritual. For both a RA and pre conjure since they are both beings / spirits which I am already conversing with, I kind of present this keeper to them and see their response. For a preconjure I usually just talk with the spirit or being after they visited that keeper if they feel they are a good match. I rarely do a reading unless A. I never met the person before which would make sense maybe in a shop sense I don’t have a shop and only do conjurations for friends or people I personally know. But this reading would be less intrusive and be more for matching their energy and base preferences. Compared to a personality or life reading to cover their dark secrets something that would only cover their intentions or potential path in magick or spirit keeping I wouldn’t really do a personal reading as I find that intrusive.

Honestly really broke my heart as this was their spirit guardian they were abusing, My one being who helps with conjurations was very very upset, wanted to give them a taste of his own medicine but I was like let’s just focus on M she is hurt right now and what matters.

Focusing on Miss M is more important right now, I agree. Sometimes vengeance is best served cold anyway.
