Hi everyone. I am looking for suggestions of magickals/enchanted items, rituals, or even companions you would recommend for someone with a major fear of driving.
I am 22 and I don’t have my driver’s license. I got into an accident when I was 16 (my mom took me out in the car and made me drive even though I told her I got a really bad feeling about going out that day.) Both cars were totaled but there were no injuries. Since then it’s been difficult for me to drive.
I have taken driving classes and lessons since the accident happened. I had a teacher take me out driving for 14 lessons which were an hour each once a week. At the end of them he told me there was no improvement/that there wouldn’t be improvement until I got over my fear and that some people just never drive. I thought I was doing better, so this hurt to hear.
Since then I’ve been avoiding driving. I want to put in one last effort before completely resigning myself to never driving again. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I skidded my car once driving on a bend in the road too fast, it was raining and I had poor tread on the tyres. While this happened I had a vision of the car flipping and hitting a wall. Luckily this never happened and I never hit any cars either. After that I had a fear of driving on bends on the road. I would drive very slow and also got ptsd from it. For me it went away eventually and I also replaced the car.
I'm not sure there is anything magickal or companions that could help. I had to drive almost everyday and public transport was not an option.

Thank you for commenting. Your experience does sound scary but it’s also good to hear you were able to overcome that.Senara wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 9:54 pm I skidded my car once driving on a bend in the road too fast, it was raining and I had poor tread on the tyres. I will definitely continue to take practical steps (I’m doing driving courses right now and will be practicing with a family member again soon.) I like using magic as a little supportive boost, but I know nothing replaces actually going out there and doing things physically.

I think many spirits can help with this, such as some angel types and even dijinn wishing. You also can look for healing spirits in the encyclopedia who can help you regain a sense of wellbeing. However it's not that any of these spirits will magic the fear away. If anything, they will help you get to the bottom of it and go through the process of releasing and overcoming that fear by bringing in events and situations that help you.
Another thing to note is that during crashes and accidents (and abuse cases), the body can tense up and it can retain the energy of the accident and trauma, and in some people traumatic memories get stored in the body and can even result as chronic pain for some. Possibly some kind of release therapy could help, even some physical therapists that can work on your body might be able to help you release it.

I'm sorry about the incident. It must have been hard for you. I believe the mentor had good intentions, and perhaps he meant that overcoming your fears is the key to improvement rather than implying that your driving skills haven't improved.Hazell wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 8:59 pm Hi everyone. It's completely normal to feel fearful or anxious about driving after a car accident. It would be helpful to talk to a professional like a psychologist or counselor who specializes in post-accident anxiety. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can be very effective in managing fears and anxieties, but only pursue it if you're comfortable.
Another approach you can take is to gradually expose yourself to driving again. Start by driving on familiar roads near your house or in less congested areas. As your confidence grows, you can increase the distance and drive in different conditions.
We shouldn't overlook the benefits of defensive driving courses. They can be extremely valuable in making you feel more prepared and providing strategies to prevent accidents.
It's important to acknowledge and accept that feeling scared and anxious after experiencing an accident is completely normal. Instead of trying to push these emotions away, give yourself the space to process and address them. It's okay to feel fearful when getting back on the road after an accident. You can even feel upset about it at one point, and that's completely alright. These emotions can ultimately contribute to making you a more skilled and prepared driver.
In terms of spiritual aspects, I understand that you mentioned practicing Reiki. This can be a helpful tool for managing stress and creating a sense of balance and tranquility in your life.
Additionally, my Keep recommendation is to consult with your trusted practitioner who can create a personalized spell to remove blockage you may be experiencing.
Lastly, keep in mind that overcoming fears like these takes time, patience, and self-compassion. Each person's journey to recovery is unique. You may require more or less time than others to regain your confidence after a car accident. But I have confidence that you will ultimately be just fine.
The dark is not a place to be afraid of.
It is a place to be explored.
The moon and the stars are friends, not foes.
They will guide you through the darkness and lead you right back home.
There are things in the dark that make it magical and mystical,
But they are also kind and peaceful creatures who want nothing more than to help you feel safe and loved.
