Windigo - Origin Cananda

The Algonkian Windigo (or Witiko) is a seasonal, subarctic
man-eating species. During the winter moons when food is
scarce, there is a fear of the creature. With cadaverous body
and a face out of an Edvard Munch portrait, highlighted with
horrid glaring eyes, the Windigo have been described as giants
with hearts of ice. Many who have been in close proximity to
them have experienced chills and the sense that their own
hearts were freezing over.

The Windigo use trees as their snowshoes and cover vast
distances in a single step. As they travel from victim to victim,
blizzards accompany them. Naked and gaunt, the entire
species stalks the forests of the north in search of human flesh,
lurking silently in the shadows of trees, tall as the old timbers
themselves.

A Windigo has a scream that paralyzes its intended meal
so that it cannot escape. Once it is upon its prey, a Windigo rips
out vital organs in seconds. When sated, packs of Windigo
have been seen playing catch with human skulls. It is a
remorseless beast that will devour its own family. In the land
of the Cree and Ojibwa, the Windigo are believed to have once
been normal human beings who have become possessed can-
nibals.

The Windigo can infect the human, and therein lies the
unique power suggested in the double meaning of its name.
The root word is Algonkian for both "evil spirit" and "canni-
bal," so Windigo describes both a demon and a way of acting
like one. Any person possessed by this cannibal spirit has lit-
erally become a Windigo and is probably incurable. Some
people choose this transformation, others happen upon it. The
latter cases are caused by being bitten, by dreaming of the
Windigo, or by being involuntarily transformed by a malevo-
lent sorcerer.
Voluntary Windigo are individuals who go into the for-
est, fast for several days, and offer their flesh freely to the
species. A Windigo may adopt such a person as its own child.

The possessed human grows a heart of ice, becomes notably
hirsute, has a craving for raw human flesh, and behaves like
the demon itself, although he never attains the full height of
the supernatural being.
The earliest sightings of this species are reported by
Jesuit missionaries in the 1600s. The Hudson Bay Company
diaries of the 1700s mention the species quite often.

Some of it is. Some of it I have never heard of. I am not from cree or ojibwe tribe and I know that some things differ for them so I won't speak on that.

great great grandmother was full blooded cherokee.... i recently found out another on my dads side was native american i forget what tribes were in new mexico but yeah i have more than i realized. only 12% but still thats more than enough to get a card. but to prove it........ omg. they dont want u to obviously.


it sounds to me just researching these two..... native americans understood more than history books tell us so much more than probably understood the balance between technogloy and spirituality where they were happy. they didnt need high tech like europe where u could say spirituality started a huge decline with things? just a crazy theory . people debate that theory a lot though where is the balance between spirituality and techonology. if both are equal how will a civilazation grow. where people will assume high tech with no spiritual guidaince is a civilazation that is sure to doom itself or nuke itself before it understands its true nature with nature itself.

the old man in the video i dunno if he is old enough actually but he is wearing us marine necklace im assuming he was part of the whole his tribe used their lanauage to code messages during ww2. the lanauage was too hard to break they say harder to learn than chinese. im assuming he is part of that program. but that would make him really old to still be alive.....still cool history behind him and to be telling what he is telling on youtube.

my family knows nothing of the cherokee spirituality. i do know they are eastern coast native americans they had to adopt way faster. kinda became the enemy there for a little bit even. under the cherokee nation. enslaving their own. only thing i know is they were not to kind to trespassers but that is any native american tribe. i do know native americans would take bets and do stupid crap to each other just for sportsmanship or to get back at each other. like stealing horses. if u got caught shame if u didnt honor. lol. which u would think both would be shame but.... since u didnt get caught maybe there was a reason. sitting bull always stuck out for me personally. even though he was part of the decline. how many tribes banded together to make his? like 12? it was really like a last stand far as i remember. which is sad history.

But, when he says 5 finger being. This really adds to what i know about native americans i know some where they are hiding infromation about giants. lol. and these giants were 6 finger beings. and all natives hated them b/c they would eat them. so it became a war. suppisovely natives finally cornered all the giants in a cave and set fire. if im wrong im wrong. but i was told the reason they put up their hand when they saw a stranger it was not a greeting but it was to show if u had 5 fingers or 6.......

I understand and don't mean to press on your beliefs. I find this an interesting discussion as you and I both have Wendigo companions. This is a pretty exotic entity which most do not have in their keep. I am also trying to discern if tribal blood has anything to do with why this entity approaches keepers. Therefore, I have a few questions if you don't mind answering them:

Did you find your Wendigo or did it come to you?

Do you know of any other keepers whom the Wendigo has approached that are not of native tribal blood?

Any info on your experiences would be greatly appreciated.

what do your Wendigos look like? does not have to look like ur actual companion. but i am curious how they look..... iv seen my share of beings i cannot put a name to. like my werewolf or dogman encounter. i still dunno what he/she really was but my god. i was not expecting to see what i saw. CH has two different pictures but they vary a ton.

now, I remember my last post. for awhile dont mean to spam but it was the tribe Ute that claims they were cursed by the navjato, after betraying them. and being haunted by the skinwalkers. since like 1800s civil war era.

but i mentioned this in my original post i just couldnt remember the tribe and the details. but yeah the ute believe their land is cursed by the evil skinwalkers. i dunno why everyone ignores the postive ones. There are good or of the light skinwalkers. not all of them are of the darkness. or evil.

one more thing im done. since i started reading and researching these subjects randomly. I am not even joking i heard foot steps on my roof even running. But, I smiled and said what? I have night play spell too. Night play for me really does work it lets your spirits make alot of noise around u . I am 100% sure it was a prankster I have in my spirit family but it was amusing none the less but it was strange to hear foot steps then ruckus like there was a shuffle. if it wasny a prankster in my family then my guardians intercepted. which i have heard outside before in the woods hearing wolves run really fast then attack something the sounds are spooky to most to say the least.

i could add another 20 to 100..... examples....

none of the skin walker pictures are real if they are they are the good ones not working with the evil one. unless the tribe is lying about not accepting the evil one skinwalkers. but do i believe they are against it openly. and people still do the long hard road to do it right right way. but the curse is different on the ute, is totally different in itself. the curse must be disturbing the viberations of the area and randomly opening up portals for negative beings to come in to run chaos.

my real question is is the evil one and skin walkers connected to the cannibalism giants they had to kill off? many tribes dealt with this though too not just those two tribes. and for one to get an interest in me already and get intercepted by my guardians thats crazy. maybe im making progress in the story they dont like..... or was giants a different independent race

i do know the owners for the ranch.... btw.... last 2 or 3 are cia connected and other organziations they are not people u can trust their stories and they all lied about their goals and how they were to give the public information on their studies.
