Re: Was 'Merlin' a real person or from a story?

A subtle extra twist is that Merlin is also a very resonant Archetype that can be worked with (different from working with eg an Egregore, an Immortal, an ascended wizard, or even a character from a parallel universe that 'really' exists). Maybe, like Atlantis, if Merlin didn't actually exist at an...

Re: Was 'Merlin' a real person or from a story?

I think probably the best you can do with this subject is to read Pagan Portals - Merlin: Once and Future Wizard by Elen Sentier. The Pagan Portals series has a generally very high quality, and it looks like this author has personal interactions with Him.

Re: Was 'Merlin' a real person or from a story?

In short, even top scholars don't agree on this. So you're not going to see much more ground covered here than you'd get by Googling. He is, at any rate, now an unseen Presence with Whom someone might interact. Whether He's Immortal by means of origin, ascension, or by being an egregore is probably ...

Re: If the Earthen aspect of yourself is artificially keeping you around?

It'd be more like vivisection, wouldn't it? Because you are an entire living person and not a dead collection of anatomical parts. It might be life-changing to practice radical self-acceptance based on the anatomical diagram rather than mapping your Self like a butcher's chart.

And the follow-up piece (https://seohelrune.com/2019/04/11/witch-wars-diagnosis/) on "Diagnosis". First and foremost though, I recommend reading this post (https://www.creepyhollows.com/phpBB3/topic2740.html?hilit=psychic%20attack), this article (https://www.patheos.com/blogs/teaaddictedwi...

Re: Help Please - experienced practitioner

I found this great article on "witch wars." This one (https://seohelrune.com/2019/04/04/witch-wars-minimizing-damage/) is about "Minimizing the Damage": But how can you avoid something that hasn’t (hopefully) happened yet? The simple answer is that you can’t. But there are some r...

Re: Ethics in spellcasting

I think this article (https://www.patheos.com/blogs/agora/2019/04/the-corner-crone-spellwork-and-ethics/) does a good job of indicating a deeper conversation to be had here. It's dealing with a very specific situation, but I think there's a lot here that can apply to the ethical spellwork framework ...

I'd honestly start out with this one on the Satan & Suns forum. It's far better suited to your particular situation.

Re: Question about past religious fears

I ran across this article on Paganism and sin (https://www.patheos.com/blogs/agora/2019/03/phosphoros-illuminations-you-must-unlearn-what-you-have-learned-part-2/). It is part of a series on shedding the vestiges and baggage of prior religions. There's a thoughtful and, I think, helpful discussion o...
