Do I have to make offerings?

I usually make an offering to my spirits about once a month, some more often than that. As others have said, some spirits seem to not want offerings which is ok too. I have some spirits in my collection that don't seem to be affected by offerings either way. When I first get a spirit I try to discern what type of offerings they prefer. I make this a part of the bonding process.

My Banshee loves flowers, preferably wildflowers. Also sandalwood incense and tiger eye gemstones. I have a djinn who loves the food from jinnandtonics.

I first feel the spirit drawing me to a particular offering. I judge it, after offered it, by the feel of the spirit's energy. Positive=good, negative=bad. Instant energy surge=definite offering.

If I gave my whitedragon some ice, do I place his vessell near it? We all know how long ice lasts in this Australian summer Lol. I eat an icecream, i always give him a lick LOL,

can we eat our offerings for example candy or chocolate after we leave it out for 24 hours or just throw it away?

Can burning incense be considered an offering? I have a spirit that according to the seller rather likes the dragons blood scent.

Absolutely! In fact, incense is one of the favorite offerings of most of my group.

I'm curious about this as well...outside of spirit keeping, I've always felt that whoever you are offering the food to takes the essence of it and you are allowed to have the physical - in a way, like sharing a meal. I'm not sure if it works the same way for keepers, though.

It does, assuming the food is still edible.

Don't leave raw meat out for 24 hours then try to eat it..

Eww...and I definitely won't do that. I think at that stage the offering might try to eat me instead! :crazy:
