Perhaps, with Ancestral guidance and an adjustment of mindset, there are some that genuinely possess the potential to become Deities / Immortals.

I got my AIYB reading which I'd had on layaway and have on my maternal side: Woodland fae which doesn't surprise me, and Immortal Morpheus. On my paternal side: 8 consecutive generations of human-sang vampire :count: which was a bit surprising

I'm going to order my Merfolk IYB reading at the end of December
