I am so excited to say that under my teachers guidance, that I have conjured a beautiful phoenix from a small obscure Greek island for myself (I only conjure with my teachers and ONLY for myself, going through the baby steps of being a conjurer
).She is a white, heat less flame, it starts blue then goes to pure white, her eyes are icy blue with a red pupil. The underside of her wings however, have an iridescent sheen to them, I've never seen flame to beautiful.
She let me put my hands in the flames, feeling them flicker around my hand but not burning, she is a gorgeous spirit. What is better though, is the wisdom she imparts. She is a wise old spirit, and when I made my post yesterday about feeling behind, she did have some things to say.
I had made that post while on lunch at work, she was sitting, looking over my shoulder. I could tell she was reading every word I wrote very carefully. Then all I heard from her, her voice is very airy and a bit echoey,
"hmmm."
I asked, "hmmm? Why do you say that?"
"You have always been like this, haven't you?"
"Like what?" I asked
"Always comparing yourself to others, how you cannot be as accomplished as they."
I thought for a moment. She was in many ways right. For the longest time I never entered my art into competitions because I would feel like mine was not up to par of others, etc.
"Why do you think that is?" She asked. I knew what was happening here...a conversation that would lead to some kind of growth...all in 30 minutes
:facepalm:: "I don't know, I guess I've always seen myself as sub par compared to others."
"I don't know, is not an answer." She said bluntly, ruffling her flames. "Why do you see yourself as sub par, as you put it?"
This conversation went on for quite sometime. I was actually 20 minutes late fro lunch because we were so into the conversation. She made me take a good, hard, and truthful look at how I view myself compared to the people around me.
