I heard it's really potent for spells, but also poisonous if ingested or smoked. Is it EVER a good idea to use it in spells?

I've never used it, but have heard it's an absolute powerhouse. My guess is, it's fine to use for spells, so long as it's energetic application is appropriate to the spell in question and that physically it's treated as a poisonous substance. (It could be placed in a bag but not a tincture, for example.)

Mandrake root can be dangerous...read up on it.....I had some for a while and handled it with surgical gloves.

Don't worry, Caiyros, I have hence this topic to begin with. I heard it's very powerful, but very poisonous, so I wanted personal opinions of its use.

I have noticed, like Peyote and Yage that Mandrake root spirit can manifest without ingesting it not even touching it or breathing any loose spores from it. And that is a mystery...BUT...

In Clifford D. Simak's book All Flesh is Grass (a quote from Walt Whitman) - its a novel about how spores travel thru space (they actually do) and carry (as a sort of living" space ship, intelligence from other parts of the Universe. Personally, I think he is spot on.....
