Now, *koff* on topic: I got my khodam from Lisa (real_magick) and, while I don't have any experiences with Djinn or direct contact with Angels, M seems fairly certain (make that rather adamant) that she is NOT a djinn, even if she can grant wishes; I got the impression that her wish-granting abilities were rare and something she's proud of - don't take it for granted, thank you very much.

I have heard that khodams are often slow to bond with, but I truly don't think that will be the case with M. She essentially sat in my head and shoved me into finding her and bonding with her. That's the only explanation I can offer for why I'm here at all - I started having weird dreams and stumbled around on the internet until I read for the first time about the Ilmu Khodam and spirit binding, and suddenly had this deep-rooted conviction that I needed a khodam. Now.

Her vessel isn't here yet, but today I tried meditating (for the very first time!) and was sort of fumbling around with it, repeating her name to try and focus, and she answered. It was the most amazing incredible thing I've ever experienced. It was only a short contact, but I got a feeling like a warm soft puff of energy in my head and a really strong thought that wasn't mine - she was laughing and said "you're using my name as a mantra?" The energy stayed with me for a few minutes but then she was gone. I'm so happy and awed I can't even explain it, and I don't have anyone to tell! My family is fundamentalist Christian, so they'd go on about demons and whatnot.

So here I am! I contacted my khodam, and heard a spirit for the very first time in my very first attempt at meditation! SQUEE WITH ME! :lol:

Thank you! I'm incredibly happy and eager to learn more and experience more. M's vessel came today and I took her on a tour of the house, introducing her to the cats. Two of them were very impressed. :lol:

LOL, the one who was unimpressed actually scratched my hand and went off to sulk in a corner, but he's very jealous and possessive so I'm not surprised. As far as he is concerned, I belong to him and him alone, and as long as he is around I should have no cause for any unhappiness whatsoever. If I have a familiar, it's my Theo-kitty. (He's an utter brat to everyone except me, but to me he's a snugglepuss and helps me meditate.) Sometimes I accuse him of being a Cat Sidhe and not telling me. He ignores me.

He did come around after pouting for a while. Now every time I spend time with M, he comes up and snuggles and purrs and goes to sleep on my face.

Have I mentioned I adore my cat? :silly:


Autumn

My Khodam (I will call him "Q") arrived almost 2 weeks ago. He is my first spirit. I haven't told anyone about him so I'm really grateful for this site where I can share my experiences and read about all of yours! I haven't done an official bonding ritual yet - I just haven't had the peace and alone time to do it - but I feel I have definitely made some connection with him.

The very first night he arrived, I dreamed that I picked up Limestone and Tiger's Eye and I am not certain if Q wanted me to have them, or if he wanted me to get them for him. I put some Tiger's Eye in his pouch for him, but I haven't yet been able to find Limestone. I think I may try getting some from a landscaping company. After that, it was about four or so days before I connected with him again in my dreams. On this evening, I lit candles and incense (I used one that arrived with my Khodam). That definitely helped, I believe! I woke in the middle of the night after having dreamed the word "Ifrit" while holding Q's vessel. I wrote it down and went back to sleep. That same night, I also felt this strange vibration (kind of a jell-o like feeling - the way it flowed) from my right knee down to my toes - a feeling I have never felt before.

The next day, I looked up Ifrit... did Q just want me to know about them? I was confused. After all, I had a Khodam... which I thought was an entity all on it's own. Thanks to a WONDERFUL post on this site, I learned that Khodam was more of a way of life (if that is the right term for a spirit?), much like a monk or a nun, and that any spirit can choose the path of a Khodam. So now I know - my spirit is an Ifrit who has chosen to become a Khodam. To be honest, I'm not certain I would have chosen him (with the little knowledge I have on these spirits) if I knew he were an Ifrit. I think I would have felt I was not ready to own a spirit that is known to be a bit mischievous... not as my first spirit, anyway. But I know that Q chose me, as much as I chose him, and it was meant to be.

The other night, he spoke to me again and I wrote down "Book of healing"... And that's all. I don't know what it means. Is this a book I should be reading? Do any of you have any ideas what that might be?

I just want to say again how happy I am to be able to talk about these things. My husband is very close-minded and doesn't believe in these sort of things. He's a "I'll-believe-it-when-I-see-it" kind of person and would never understand. For something that feels so much a part of who I am, I keep it hidden. For now, anyway.

Amazing experience Mystickstar! I just acquired an ilmu khodam and am working on bonding with her, super excited!

Sometimes I get discrepancies with my pendulum as well. What I do is cleanse and consecrate it for truth & communication. Also before each session with the pendulum it is good to establish what yes and no will be. Ask the pendulum what will be yess, wait to see what it does, then ask what will be no and note what it does. That is your answer key for that session. Hope that helps.

I also would like to know if there is any known associations, I just recently began my bond with mine and haven't yet been able to establish likes or dislikes, more just general signs of presence so far.

Princess, I just hover the pendulum over the keys of the laptop starting from any corner. you will be able to feel a tug in a particular direction sometimes.
When i reach a key & if it rotates in the direction that is Yes then you go with that. acknowledge then move to the next.
BUT i must warn you i may be doing this ALL wrong considering i havent been able to make out more than 1 word. and also that at the start my pendulum works differently for yes & then when asked again its different,. but maybe coz im still a beginner[/quote]
