I have never had much luck with opening my 3rd eye and kind of stopped trying several months ago. But a few nights ago, after going to bed, I was reviewing my day when all of a sudden I was seeing things, images were flashing in front of...well, I would say in front of my eyes but my eyes were closed and I wasn't really seeing, I was "minding" them. I was extremely relaxed at the time and when I realized what was going on, I almost jolted myself out of it just by being exited.

The overall experience was very vivid and pleasant, nothing was scary or anything about the feeling or the images I saw. It was a bit like what I would imagine a very deep meditation or trance would feel like. The things I saw were mostly of a nature theme but many were seen from above, looking down.

My questions are: Am I right in believing this to be the opening of my third eye? And, if so, is it normal to not remember that much of what is shown to you at first? I can recall generalized things but nothing in detail, although I remember that there was much much detail shown. I just can't remember WHAT detail.

Frustrating but oh so COOL, if it really is.

There are many different ways to open your 3rd eye. But Since you mentioned you were falling asleep, then it reminds me of "Hynagogic Imagery." It can be 3rd eye related, But something like that can just happen without you even trying.

So If it continues throughout your day to day life without being put into a trance, then your 3rd eye may be active. But that's just the start of it

Another tip, try to remember to keep a journal, that way you won't lose all the details of your experiences

Thank you Killarican and Sassy. I wasn't falling asleep (have sleeping issues) but I was very relaxed and in bed so you may be right. I should have gotten up and written down things because afterwards I did mull what I'd seen over in my mind but I didn't (was COLD that night). I'll put a notepad on my window ledge for next time.

Oddly, after this experience, many, many many good things have occurred in my life. I haven't won the lottery or anything but some strange, totally unexpected good things have happened, including an offer to purchase a building for the non profit organization I am part of for $1 a year for 12 years (we're having an attorney look into it but the possibility looks really great).

I feel like, somehow, this experience was a turning point for my intuitiveness and awareness. YIPPEE, good things are always welcome, right?

They both help activate the third eye. He also has a website you can go to for more. Or you can subscribe to his youtube channel and he's got plenty more exercises there.
