I have a stone I've had forever. It's my personal stone, the one that seems to work best with me.
Thing is, I've never been able to identify it. Ever. And it doesn't take pictures well as it's color is so dark.
Basically, it's very dark purple- so dark that it's almost black. Very solid, no pattern except for this kinda square patch that looks lighter and I believe is a crack that's on the inside layers.
On the bottom are some spots that also look like its been damaged a little, with a milky lavender streak through it.
Any ideas what stones may be similar?
I'm beginning to think it's a dyed amethyst.
What type of stone is this?

I've taken some pictures in the brightest light I could. But mind you this stone's never taken pictures well which sucks because it's an absolutely gorgeous stone. It's black looking in the pictures but trust me, it's purple.

That does look sugilite to me. Pretty amazing and pwerful stone if that is what you have!

Is it just me being a guy, but your stone looks blue and the sugar looks purple.
