It was captivating, and I understand now what Mr. C meant when he said in chat one night, we are the slan.
I was held by about page 15 and read through the 255 page book rather quickly, when I took the time to read. Towards the end it got a bit complicated when some things were revealed, and I may go back and read that section just because. And of course you are left with a cliffhanger!
The book was written in 1940 and is a futuristic view of the struggles between humans and evolved human species, internal and external. I really enjoyed it, especially considering I don't read much science fiction. And the book is intriguing bc who is to say this is not the path humans are on.. we already face some of the struggles that the book covers, internally and externally, because of our spiritual quests for knowledge and evolution yet struggling with societal construct, ideals, and pressures. I just wonder how the author came to these concepts in his book....
I highly recommend as it is an easy read and coming from a spirit keeping perspective and those who may be pursuing spiritual endeavors outside of mainstream society, this book falls under several genres of interest.
Next on the list is Slan Hunter. :thumbup:
