On the day that you sailed,

As the water came rushing in,
You tried so hard to defend,
But the sea came to claim her souls,

The ship that was unsinkable,
Went down with a dying groan,
Taking all there was aboard,
Young and old, rich or poor,
She did not spare any soul.

The ones that made it out, forever scared,
Will forever bare the hurt in the heart,
Knowing that there is no redemption from the start,
Of remembering those who will forever be in their thoughts.

To this day, there is no forgetting of those still below,
In the dark and cold,
Of dreams lost so long ago,

At 4:00 am April 15th 1912, the RMS Carpathia, owned by White Star's rival shipping company Cunard, arrived and picked up 705 Titanic survivors. As the sun rose slowly over the Atlantic ocean, everyone took in the sight. The Titanic was gone.

Later, the White Star line cable boat Makay-Bennet out of Halifax recovered 190 deceased passengers, 116 of which they buried at sea.

May those who were found, re-commited to the sea, or never recovered never be forgotten. May the heros of the day still hold their heads high long after they to are gone.

May we never forget the event 100 years ago today. May we each take a lesson from this, and live, love, and remember.

Undeniably one of the greatest tragedies and the manner of death in which the abandoned passengers found themselves facing was beyond tragic. Parents having to watch their children drown, people trapped beyond hope of rescue knowing they are going to die, but not knowing when, the brief glimmer of hope when the waters shifted in the ship, and the mind games that must have tormented all of them. It was vanity at its height versus human life.

Humans have the capacity for love beyond imagination, and destruction beyond imagination.

Hey all. This artical has a pic from a 2004 dive to the wreck site. That is not some clothing that fell from a steamer trunk. That is a person in the pic. 100 years gone.

My heart and prayers go out to the people that were lost in sea in the tragedy that be-fail the Titanic. Here's a good poem that I found that I liked as well...

THE FATE OF STEERAGE

When the steerage passengers came aboard the Titanic,
they only wanted to cross the Atlantic.
These people had sold everything but their soul,
to reach America, the ultimate goal.
They were thankful for a room below,
never suspecting the danger of being that low.
And on the dreadful night, fifteenth of April,
the great ship met the iceberg's peril.
No one thought it necessary that the poor be warned,
for no one in first class should have to mourn.
The steerage people were assured nothing was wrong-
yet all the lifeboats had already gone.

Today marks the 102nd anniversary of the Titanic hitting the iceberg. There were many acts of bravery, love, and sacrifice that night and I honor the victims, survivors, and countless others who were affected by this tragedy.

I have a crazy affinity to this most horrific tragedy. I'm not so sure that I wasn't actually on the Titanic in a past life as my emotions/feelings are so strong about the Titanic. However, it could simply be a strong echo from the past I'm picking up empathically. Which ever it might be ......

This evening, I would also like to honor on the 102nd anniversary the victims, survivors, and any other soul who was affected by this tragedy.

I have watched so many documentaries and shows on the Titanic. I find it to be such a fascinating tragedy, and often feel horrible for the horror these people who lost their lives must have felt. I can't imagine being there and having to go through this situation myself. I truly hope their souls can and will find peace.
