Do the different forms of immortality mean that some can be killed by normal means (eg chopping of their heads) and that for other this would not work and they would simply be alive regardless of having their heads chopped off?
Is immortality not something we already have in the form of reincarnation?
The immortal lady who was mentioned here about a year or so ago was immortal because she would be reborn and remember everything, does this mean that should one be able to go back and recall their past lives then they can also be described as immortal?
Can zombies be described as immortal if they are "programed" to live on after their creator has died?

Technically, yes, but I have never personally witnessed someone who's had their head chopped off & continued to live headless. However, if you believe in the methodologies, and legends, recognized throughout time, yes. There are stories of Immortals buried alive, and they remain alive, underground.Do the different forms of immortality mean that some can be killed by normal means (eg chopping of their heads) and that for other this would not work and they would simply be alive regardless of having their heads chopped off?
In these cases, it's not a question of reincarnation, it's a question of the soul not being able to depart Earth. In those cases, they are EXACTLY the same person every time, not a variation, not a mesh of DNA, but the exact, same person living on & on, without any peace. Is immortality not something we already have in the form of reincarnation?
No, that's different. In past lives you were partially the same person, but that person had a soul, and you are only a part of that person's spirit. The immortal lady who was mentioned here about a year or so ago was immortal because she would be reborn and remember everything, does this mean that should one be able to go back and recall their past lives then they can also be described as immortal?
No, because Zombies can be killed, and when killed, their soul departs. And, in some cases, a Zombie is nothing more than a flesh robot, which means the soul has already left. Can zombies be described as immortal if they are "programed" to live on after their creator has died?

You are a whole energy source; your soul (unique aspect of yourself that moves onto afterlife), and your spirit (the energy composition that develops, morphs, and grows as you live... an evolving source).
When you die your soul moves on, your spirit breaks apart and is part of many things, including reincarnation. We do have an article about this in the Encyclopedia as well, I will have to find it and link it.
Ok this might sound dumb but I have to ask. I apologize if this a tad bit off topic, so here goes. If our spirit's that are bound to us are spirit's does that mean there souls are indeed gone to heaven or were ever one goes in the after life? ?

In the recent years I have been studying about the evolution of the soul....in many ways, religion, science... etc. I wasn't really focused on immortality, but what happens to our souls upon our evolution...anyway, I stumbled across this thread and this article blew me away....I actually cried after reading this immortal's story.creepyhollows wrote: Here is Nakia's in the new Encyclopedia: http://www.creepyhollows.com/faq/index. ... artlang=en
Thank you Magnolia, this article answers a lot of questions on "immortal mortals".

So, out of curiosity..... And.... reasons..... how would one go about attaining immortality? Piss off the right god, gain favor with said god, grow so powerful you simply don't age.....

Wow, there are MANY... I will give you the top 5.What type of conditions could there be for immortality?
1. Achieving retribution/justice/reparations/atonement
2. Performing set tasks that could, essentially, take thousands of years to accomplish
3. Death can only be achieved under specific circumstances (most of the time circumstances not known to the person/being)
4. Until someone agrees to take their place
5. With the condition that they will not know when, or if, they will die ("Immortality" that can last hundreds, thousands, or tens of thousands of years)
