Honestly, I feel sorry for this person and for anyone who loves him. Even if he does no direct, conscious harm to them, surely their hearts will break from watching him destroy his own life. Even if they never realize that demon possession is the root of the problem, they'll most likely think there's a mental illness, and that's certainly not an alternative that will console them.
It sounds like he is hell-bent (no pun intended) on becoming a living example of the worst-case scenario. And at age 17, the part of his brain that governs the ability to weigh the repercussions of one's actions has not even fully developed yet. That development continues until a person is in their early 20s. (Which, in retrospect, explains a lot of the behaviors I witnessed in college. But I digress.)
It's sad, really. I hate to see a person throw their life away like that, especially if they are harming untold others into the bargain. I'm not the sort of person to dictate to others what path they should or shouldn't be on, but in THIS case, it's clear his path will end by destroying him. So I hope he finds, and uses, whatever resources exist to get himself OFF that path.

Last update I saw from N was about... 3 months ago, I believe?
He was still ranting about how there was a war going to happen soon, and that anyone who wanted saving needed to get their asses in gear and start worshiping him.
I laughed. I feel no pity for him; instead I find his predicament rather comical now. Hysterical, really. He's placed himself up so high on a delusional pedestal, and should he ever, by whatever fathomless miracle, come to his senses, the fall will be very real and he will plummet; and I think there will be a rather harsh sudden stop at the bottom for him.
So, rum anyone?
I will tell you such foul truths and such beautiful lies, you will want to sew my lips shut.

What is it with people with delusions that others should worship them.
Don't they understand how much WORK is involved in being a god? I mean seriously. Who would want that kind of responsibility...
And the WHINING... OMFG the WHINING...
No, thank you... SO not my dish.
People worshiping you is a one way trip to trouble. First they worship you, and then they think they own you and you owe them something for their troubles, and then you have to put out. Bleh.
