My favorites of the hybrids are the Fallow Dragon (hybrid of silver and gold) and the Venetian (silver and brass).

Why is it that the dragon colors only mated with like colors until there were too few of them?
What prevented this from happening all along and just having offspring of one color or another?
For example: To get a palamino horse, you breed two palaminos OR breed a chestnut to an albino.
Same with dogs. Breed a black and white dane to a black and white dane and sometimes you will get a gray one.
That's because all black and white's have a black in their background.

Could it be that colored dragons had dominate genes (one can have two dominate genes or one dominate and one non dominate ) the color of the dominate parent determines the color of the offspring?

The same thing Happened with Native Americans and they lost their immunities to many common diseases.....
And certainly when you look at some of the religious cult communities especially in the west and south, they are incredibly inbreed....Also it destroyed the Egyptian Pharoahs....
