Has the rabbit been taken to a vet for x-rays? If not, that is top priority and should be done immediately.

Yes, that has been done. The spine is broken just before the hips. According to the vet, this is a common spot for this type of injury. She said she doesn't often see a rabbit still have feeling in either back legs, but still gave us a very slim prognosis she will walk again on her own. If in six weeks she isn't up and about (not quite hopping right, but still getting around would be okay), or if at any point she decides she's done fighting, then we will respect her wishes. For now, she is enjoying being showered with attention and treats and is currently snuggled up asleep.

I've had a lot of rabbits in my life, so I know how hard it is to try to save one with a broken spine. Your bunny has been VERY lucky to be given this chance of rehabilitating.

Just an update. Even after only two days, she is already doing much better and impossible to keep completely still. She is even moving her back legs a little to shift around the crate. Confining her to the dog crate is difficult. All she wants to do is move around and burrow under the towels keeping her in place and making her sit with her legs underneath her is nigh on impossible. Such a feisty bunny. Must pad with more towels...

I'm so happy to see she's moving her back LEGS, plural. Keeping the prayers coming! Sending every sort of healing energy we can muster, as well.
