My super power would be...: Read other's minds

Does anyone have any personal experience with the goddess Brigid? What is her personality like and such? Specifically, I'm looking for something or someone who can help with my extremely bad health, because the method I'm using right now is not going to work out long-term. (Of course, I use modern medicine too.)

Semi-irrelevant note: I find it fitting in a twisted way that the malevolent deity who has been haunting me for a very long time (i made a thread about it here http://www.creepyhollows.com/phpBB3/vie ... 20&t=60778) is a sea goddess while Brigid is a fire goddess. Like they're opposite o.o

Brigid was actually my first matron and I so love her. She helped me discover my path many years ago. She's loving and kind. Her energy feels very motherly. She is however, motherly in that she will let you know if she's unpleased with something...at least in my experience.

I only have experience of working with her via a specific system - Practical Celtic Magic, by Murry Hope. It's a light-aligned system. For me Brigid's energy field is/was very warm and healing, I thought. It seemed to relate to the soft warm self healing energy, if you see what I mean.

That was probably like having a white arts binding or portal to her. So I didn't encounter any difficult aspects of Brigid.

The area of northern England I live in was ruled by the celtic Brigantes Federation when the Romans invaded and there's an area of Cheshire not far way that was still called the Brigantes Hundreds 100 years or so ago. Brigantia is a version of Brigid and she is thought to be the inspiration behind the figure of Brittania, used on British coins and in patriotic songs. Brittania is shown with a helmet and shield, rather like Athena. So Brigid in her version as Brigantia has been given a tenuous link to Greek Athena, but to me her energy is more nature-friendly, while Athena is more high concept. I like them both by the way. Athena is supposed to be able to help with self healing, in the system I learned, and is associated with the colour red-gold. With Brigid she seemed more directly related to the self healing energy, which I felt or saw as a softer, natural (gold and) red.

I hope that stayed on topic.

I would recommend asking CH which spirit is best for helping with ill health (that's just what I would do) but a custom binding of the right aspect of Brigid may well be some use.

I don’t have a personal connection to Brigid, but I do like her on paper, so to speak.

She's amazing <3 I haven't interacted with her in awhile and I'm fighting off a nasty cold and she's right here. She always makes her presence known when I need her the most.
