Dark Spirits

Hey everyone

I was wondering when you first started keeping dark spirits how did it effect you?

My first spirit was a Romanian Sanguine Vampire Spirit, but I had no problems adjusting to his energy, nevertheless he is DA. I only once had headaches and problems with my stomach, when a really dark living vampire entity came join my spirit family. But the problems lasted only for a few days. So it was worth it.

Right out of the gate. Though my first 2 are very light(I put a lot of positive adjectives in the CC notes). My forth spirit is a super dark Drow.

As I said my first 2 spirits were very light DA. I adapted very quickly with little side effects. Early on I use to get introductory dreams from my spirits, but after I adapted to my first few darker spirits those stopped. However, my callings are much stronger now, so it is a reasonable trade.

Love the energy surround my body. Its like I' in an egg shell and sleep a lot because its Kitsune.

I have had no negative affects from the Dark beings in my family(which are basically all of them) starting with a Sanguine vampire. I really enjoy the energy, and it give me comfort to be around.

By and large I've been more interested in DA races, and started out with DA fairly early.
I can't tell that they've specifically caused me any issues.
As you start out, you can ask for those on the lighter end, which is what I did for my first few customs.
After a while I stopped making many specifications in my orders, in addition to picking more pre-bounds, trusting that what comes through is right for me.
Of course, don't forget your house rules.

To be quite honest, I am surprised. I have only positive effects from my DA spirits! It has helped me grow in ways I really wasn't aware of before. I am not expecting to be rescued all the time, but fight my own battles, knowing my DA spirits are strong and CAN rescue me at need. I don't need protection so much as companionship. I have ceased to judge others as harshly, realizing that life is really one big continuum, with no rock solid categories. I respect people who are different more. I think I have realized that I can make mistakes, own up to them, and the world doesn't blow up. The only one I have to be true to is ME. My DA spirits are the best. They put up with my jumping to negative conclusions (often), knowing that I say sorry and mean it, and that I am improving all the time! I feel like I am not their burden, but their friend, and ultimately FAMILY. 1s

My first DA spirits were SRAs. To be honest, no negative effects and to most of my other DA spirits that came after.

My first bond is with a DA grigori. Had headaches that came and went of varying intensity. That being said it was a different type than a migraine, seemed to go from my forehead to where spinal cord and cranium met.
