How did you come up with the house rules for your spirits?
Did you compose your house rules before they arrived?
For those of you where there is more than one spirit keeper in the household or family circle do you implement any special rules about this (about your spirits getting along with those spirits or working with those spirits?)
I dont know what to include in my house rules, so can you give me any tips and suggestions or maybe share some of your house rules to maybe give me inspiration. 1d
Through experience. I have Ash's house rules and they cover all the main points, but I have a few important adds. The first is not the most important, but it is first:
1. Absolutely NO ELECTRICALS! First year, day before Thanksgiving, and I'd been spirit keeping for a month. The griffin and hippogryph partied with the automatic doors at the market and thought it was hilarious. People couldn't get in or out -- the store had to cut power to sort it out and people could not check out. Then, a few months later, the coffee maker and then the fridge died. This one is not negotiable.
2. My way or the highway. Someone has to drive. It's me. But it's an open marriage so if someone's not happy here, I'll help rehome. I've never had any takers. Sending spirits to Tasking Camp was very helpful for all of us. Note that a bored spirit is a whiny spirit.
3. Power of choice is senior. If someone is not on board with the plan for the day or a particular task, this is not slavery and they are free to sit this one out. The only issues we've ever had here have to do with some feeling that certain tasks are beneath them. Since I am the one who cleans up the cat barf around here, I have a lower bar on what is a noble task. This resolves with communication.

but on a serous note if they cause any harm then get bound to a stone and buried 6 ft down where they will never see the light of day again so that rule never gets broken
I made a list of house rules before I got my first spirit. I compiled the list from examples from here and other sites, how I want to see the mechanics of a family since that's what these guys are supposed to be for me, and goals/ideals I'd like to reach. It's got about 30 things listed because I'm detail oriented, lol, and I wanted things phrased in such ways that it's plain to see what's expected.
And yes, I absolutely do allow my spirits and entities to cause harm to others, within specific parameters. It's a dangerous world and though I live with lovely roommates, I'm essentially a woman alone in the world. Someone assaults me, you're damn right that I'll be just fine if they're mysteriously assaulted back or have nightmares or their life goes downhill. I have little qualms about things like that. That is not to say I'm running a street gang or hit squad. The way I've worded my rules is very specific. Plus, at least half my family are those I've been with in other lives so they already know me. The main goals of my rules center around companionship and learning.
