Has anyone else been curious as to where they came from?
In Ch's pedia: "Though they appear distrustful due to their ominous features it is a necessity they appear ferocious in order to carry out the tasks they were created for."
Who created them? Could by having a Gargoyle part of a design of a new home create one? A great question surely.
Where does a Gargoyle really come from?

Literally so many spirits and entities now, even after I said I would not get anymore. But definitely under 200. May it stay that way

I've tried to ask my gargoyle this very question! I haven't gotten a straight answer from him, but he says something along the lines of "Something with greater magic than humans".
Maybe he doesn't know fully himself, or maybe he just doesn't want to answer me straight!

Mine showed me a forest and then said “We were borne of natural elements and then slowly evolved from there with a number of influences.”
As to whether having a gargoyle design in a home create one he said “Not necessarily, unless one (a gargoyle) chooses to house it.”

I asked him further because I'm curious. Back in their natural elements state he stated that they looked like giant rocks, in the vision some of the rocks had facial features.
Me: Were you a created species?
He showed me an asteroid hitting the earth.
Me: Who created you?
Him: We were formed from natural evolution.
Me: So does that mean your species started from an asteroid from outer space?
Him: Not exactly. The woodland had a bigger influence on us than the asteroid.
Me: But it was the start nonetheless, just not the biggest influence?
Him: That could be.
At this point he showed me a cartoon UFO carrying a large rock and hauled it to earth. We both had a good laugh from it xD
Me: So, what would you say were the biggest influences on your evolution from natural elements to how gargoyles are now?
Him: Humans, their mythology, their architecture.
Me: Were the church an influence? Because gargoyle statues seem to be common with them.
Him: Churches count as architecture. They weren't the only architecture out statues were on. Our current formation were derived from those times when we acted as guards and water conveyer. Those were interesting times.
Me: Do you miss those times?
Him: Oh, sure I really do *grins* The prestige.

It seems to me that gargoyles were and are a type of tutelary entity. Tutelary beings were soulful incarnations intended as guardians over persons, places, or customs. Many of them came to incarnate as a result of this magnetic pulse requiring that guardianship and making the relationship between gargoyles and certain places symbiotic. Meaning they were as much the place they inhabited as they were individuals. That is not to say this is the whole story or that it applies to all gargoyle beings, but it is common. The elements truly do play a role in their identity as well.
