It's important to realize the "Ubi" is something painted with a large brush, and over time "Ubi" has come to embrace many different beings that aren't actually Ubis. It's also important to note that the insurgence of religion in many European cultures led to Ubis being depicted with horns and spiked tails because religion depicted sex as evil, therefore Ubi = devil.

With any of the races you have to peel back the layers past the religious views & past the historical records that demonized certain species beyond the reputation they deserve.

It's in their nature, they're born like that.

That said, there are some that have learned to live without.
In my keep there's one that works under Hecate, who doesn't need to feed anymore. But then again, she's probably more along the lines of what the Greek called Daemon now.

So they do start out like that but they can, under certain circumstances, evolve past that. Exceptions to the rule do exist. The question is, since mine would be more along the lines of a Daemon, is she still an Ubi? Would an Ubi that doesn't need to feed on sexual energy anymore be called an ubi?

It makes sense. Ubi is just a term we created. Just like how we give names to different types of faerie dragon or angel spirits. And not just those of course but this goes for all entities we know of.

I guess if that’s what she identifies as then she would be one.

Aaaand that's the thing, right there. All established conjurers I know talk about them needing it (at least as long as they're alive, spirits don't need it since they're already dead). So unless you have irrefutable proof that this isn't the way it is, you definitely don't know. Unless you want to claim you know more than they do.
Aside from that, sure you can believe what you want to believe. But that doesn't automatically make it true. That just makes it your opinion.
