Newly registered users cannot access chat because there were too many new names being created without any validation, so this curbs anyone who is banned from immediately making a new name and accessing chat.

Okay.. So I’ve been watching this for a while now.. Can I ask what happened? I was busy with attending to my personal life and College, so I really didn’t have that kind of time to pay attention.

When are you considered not a newly registered member? I've been part of the forum for about a month and can't see the chat still. Though that might also have to do with me not making many posts on the forum. If it's the post problem, how many posts do I have to make before I'm not considered a newly registered member? It would be nice to know and might encourage me to make more posts.

Usually around 2 months or so depending on your posting amount. If you are still on post approval, and it's not because of your account being put back there due to rule violations, you are still fairly new.

Here I am being a good Ish and going to school and what do I find when I come back? Drama. I thought this was more of a social media thing...i expect more out of forums. Especially older ones.

Ah well. I can't expect the staff to know everything, but still, maybe it would be worth raising the age limit to joining to prevent these immature scuffles in the future? Unless I'm mistaken and one or both of them actually are grown adults.

In that case, perhaps an actual blocking function would suffice in order to prevent the young ones from becoming harassed by mentally-young ones...

I dunno. I just personally feel this is a bit churlish for the setting, know what I mean? Eh, maybe I'm hitting the subject late.

I noticed the chat gone around the 25th but never bothered looking into it due to life stuff as well as assuming it was going through some sort of update. Guess I should have been more curious so I could get into the meat of this conversation sooner.

....yes, just like you used your real life name as your forum ID, everybody will use their real age in their forum....*cough*
The FB age limit for example is 13. How many people do you think are on there who are under 13?

Being blocked from chat? That's what they did now, every newbie is blocked from chat until off being supervised. You can just make some people permanent newbies.
