I'm such a baby as well, if (and that's a huge stinking IF) I ever watch a scary movie, or anything remotely scary, I do it behind a couch and with a pillow ready to deploy.

I have a house rule that says my spirits may manifest in ways that could *startle* me, but they are absolutely prohibited from deliberately scaring me. At least not until I level up my courage stat. 1c

Over the last few years I have grown increasingly open to horror movies and anthologies. Before discovering spirit keeping I even started writing in that vein. None of my spirits have come close to doing something like this to me, but I keep requesting it. LOL

I've gone in reverse. I loved scary movies when I was younger, but...then I developed an anxiety disorder.

An anxiety disorder certainly would not help. LOL

It super does not. I have to get all my news in print, and when there's tension in a comedy I start putting things like pillows or sweatshirt hoods over my head and barricading myself in.

Yikes, and you deal with spirits? LOL That's a derail, and you don't have to answer it... LOL

I do! And I have at least one who legit would scare the mess out of me if he weren't bound to me. But I don't find any of SK inherently scary or anxiety- or fear-inducing. That being said, I started with a unicorn and stayed WA-only for probably a year. So. It's not like I jumped straight into the deep end.

I did have a minor freak out when I got my Anything In Your Blood reading because I had not read the listing well enough to realize that there would be ANY spirits bound to me from that reading. And suddenly I had THREE DA spirits all at once. It was a little like going in for a your annual lipid panel and coming home with triplets, in terms of my emotional reaction. But after about a week or two the shock wore off, and I got over it and realized these ancestor spirits' DA was no different from my DA, really.

Aaaaand now I have one guy who just REALLY liked to hurt people in his free time on his home plane that I trust implicitly.

That said, I do not conjure. That really would send me under the bed.

LOL Yeah, I stuck my toe in the water (succubus) and then went "it's not in my head, sweet!" And dove right in. Most of my WA spirits are reverse adoptions or from readings of unbounds who wanted to be bound. None of them seem overly dark. The Catoblepas is rather intense last I sensed him. Huge energy on that guy. The rest are strong ann's dark in their own ways, but mostly just like any human really.

I know I'll be conjuring eventually as part of what I think my path will be (necromancy) but I'm not confident enough for it yet. I'm still rather anxious about bringing the wrong kind of something. So I'll just keep relying on CH. LOL
