Hello all!

This is an odd little question, but I was looking through the posts and I didn't see anything that answered my question so I figured I would ask and see what kind of answers I would get.

I have the honor of welcoming a volkh and a fylgia into my family today when I get home from work (totally looking forward to it). Mortimer, the gentleman who bound them for me, informed me that since they are not social spirits that they do not have names, and I was thinking, well could I give them names? It would make it easier to connect with them and make our relationship a little more personal, but I am not sure if this would be a good thing to do or not.

Any opinions or added information?

You can most certainly give them names as these are Spirits in your Keep that you are with on your journey. Its true that Volkh and Fylgia sometimes do not share their names with their Conjurer, sometimes they don't even have one, they just exist and are happy to be around doing their job.They will not turn you away if you wish to do so. An actual name or a nick name, either would be fine. You can pose the question directly to them. Go with what feels right.

Yep. This is what I've done. They recognize it helps me to give them names.

Just to point out, if you ordered your spirits from CH, Ash and Magnolia are the ones doing the bindings. Mortimer is a member of the staff taking care of the orders.

Oh! thank you for pointing that out to me, I didn't know :)

I have a Volkh who came with a name that he's rather proud of and a Fylgia who did not. I named my Fylgia after a conversation about it. The one that picked me (reverse adoption) I'm sure was aware that I'd be one that needed the name connection. It definitely is more for me in this case and I'm happy my Fylgia obliged. 1s
