I know our spirit companions are always showing us new things and new ways of looking at things, we're constantly learning from them but... Has anyone here ever taught their spirit(s) anything new?

I have a pet Rabbit, and my kitsune always used to view rabbits as just bundles of survival instinct. Cute, yes, but ultimately not very much beyond a creature just trying to stay alive the best it can with nothing else going on for it. But after being with us, she learned as I had that rabbits have thier own personalities and quirks just as much as anyone else, and they can be quite smart for "oversized hoppy mouse" as she once put it.

Yes, this seems to be an interesting and sometimes endearing aspect of our spirit companions. For one thing they learn about us. It is said they can get to know us better than we know ourselves.

Another thing, which I thought of when reading this post, is they can learn how to become better at helping us:

What a great subject!

My familiar insists that we have regular sessions where he attempts to teach me more about DA spell work. And the Amarok has frequently interacted with my dogs and as a result improved their behavior.. almost as if he was training them.

This makes me remember on what I read here, on story how 'companions' amazed and enjoy our tech/stuffs and movies. They might learn it from us for aspects that is outside of spiritual knowledge.

Yes!

I work in a very technical field. And I have one companion who is always there poking around when I'm working on something that is challenging. I don't get the connection.. she's carbuncle.. but none the less.. I'll get a lot of "Push that!", "Try that!", "What does that do?!" from her while I'm working.

It is. And its like clock work. If I open up a computer or router or even when I opened up the back of an old refrigerator to add freon... there she was all "show me show me show me!".

lol! I did shock myself pretty badly once working on an open iMac. The back of their LED screens can stay pretty charged for hours and of course I wasn't wearing my grounding cable. Carbuncle pointed out a screw that had dropped in the carriage. Of course I reached for it, and zap! 1hd
