First of all, hi! I’m so glad to be here, extremely eager to learn more about spirit keeping. But I really don’t know where to start I’ve sat and read a *lot* about the spirit keeping itself, but I’d really like to know how to get in touch with a practioner so that I can get even more in depth with spirit keeping. A bit anxious that I’ll do something wrong because I didn’t know enough from just doing a buttload of reading and research. I like having a guide

I am going to try to help you get started! There's also a great part in the forum called "Advice for New Keepers". Lewk is awesome enough to post links and I forgot how to do that in forums! Ok back to starting..

Before getting your first spirit home, write and post house rules. Use sage, Palo, insence, to cleanse your home from negative energy. Get yourself a journal so that you can write information about your spirit friend. Trust me it will be difficult to just keep one spirit as they all have different benefits. At least for me lol.

Bringing me to another point...think about which character traits you are looking for. Are you looking for help with psychic abilities? Do you prefer a shy spirit or someone who is talkative?

The best advice I can give you is to be yourself. Don't stress. When you decide which spirit you would like, get a custom conjure for that type. You will get a spirit that chooses you.

Everything else will fall into place.
