hey all... as someone new, I'm wondering how many others have had headaches while adjusting to things.
I'm awaiting 2 spirit vessels and a ritual vessel... been dealing with nasty headaches and migraines since the orders were completed. I have yet to get my vessels in the mail.

Did you get this too?
How long did you take to adjust?
Any tips for dealing with this short term pain?...so I can reap the long term gain.

My spirits on the way are Fylgia and a Sanguine Vampire


Also... anyone have experience with the spelled lip balms or other body magick?

I had a terrible four-day migraine starting the day before my first spirit's vessel arrived. From what I've heard since getting into Spirit Keeping, it seems like this can be common with adjusting to Dark Arts spirits in particular.

I have heard of people having some success with simply asking your spirit to dial back their energy a bit.

Good luck! Migraines are terrible. I am already prone to them, but that "Adjustment Period Migraine" was one of the worst I'd ever experienced.

Yeah I'm wondering if I should ask him to ease off... or just get er done with if he thinks I could handle it. Will have to see how it goes.

I've had a bad headache for two days and I've very rarely had them. If it continues I'll go to the doctor, but I had two spirits and a spelled item in the mail. All WL but one seems energetically very "loud". In a good way.

Headache seems to be dying out now.

The rule of thumb here is always seek proper medical care for any health problem.

With dark arts acclimation, headaches are a fairly common symptom. There are 3 other things you can do:

1. Politely ask your dark arts spirit(s) to help you by helping to minimise the symptoms. (Apparently they will often happily comply.)

3. Wait it out (while treating it the same way you would with any health condition).

You don't get a headache from Fylgija. It's a white light spirit. I don't know about the other one. I have only white and neutral arts. And my immortal is not yet on her way yet. But that is going to be an open channel binding anyway. Different to normal binding.

I would say it's more like a ritual if it's dark art.

Thank you Lewk, I think I'll keep a little distance from the vessel while I acclimate just to be safe. It likely is a biological thing and the timing just a coincidence. (I do believe in coincidences or at least that meaningful events can be interpreted the wrong way.)

With a WA / light natured spirit, of course it won't be adjusting to their darker energy (energy darker than you are) that causes a headache. It could still be adjustment between their energy and yours. See
