Can you guys give me some examples of task for spirits? I am not someone that does magick, so I don't know what type of task I am supposed to give them?

Next question. Is there a list of energies that I can view to use for a binding that I just had done? I checked the enclyopedia but I don't see energy anywhere there.

Tasking is really simple...we just tend to overthink this.... If you could, what kind of "tasks" would you give your physical friends? Or, to say it differently: What kind of favors do you ask your friends for? You can start from thinking about that The only difference would be that the kind of help you will get would be pretty different then asking for a favor from someone physical. And last but not least: In my opinion you dont really need do. There is no obligation for tasking as long as you let them take part in your life and treat them as friends (or lovers if thats where your relationship goes to)

And regarding the second question.... I do not understand what you really mean by that, do you mean like: "Spirit xyz has a waterbased energy to it". Do you mean something like that?
As far as I know there is not a list regarding that.... Personally I think it would be a little confusing if such a lists exists... try getting a feel of your companions energy regardless of what you think its "supposed" to be.... It doesnt need to be spot on at first, its about the interaction. And when i think about it... such things can also change with time, espacially with living beings/entities. If your companion is present, then just...hmm... write down your first impressions... how does he/she/it feel like to you? What feelings do you get? That at least is one example of how I do it when I do it^^

Thanks so much. The 2nd question actually is a spell that is bound to me. You are suppose to conjure the energy that you want and it is supposed to come through the portal. The spell is called the Alleria Spell, this is the description:

Through work with this spell you can conjure and command magic energy any time you desire. When the spell is activated the portal is open. It is a one-way portal that only allows the magic you conjure to come through and nothing else. This is a fantastic binding to use when you want to apply the magical energy to a new endeavor in your journey. This will allow you to command and work with magical power at any time during your day, and you can use the magical energy to work with spirits, magical rituals, and spiritual endeavors.

So it is not just energy but magic energy. Does that give a better understanding of it?

A very simple task is at the start of each day greet your spirit companions, ask how they are, share with them your hopes and fears for the day ahead and invite them to aid you with your day.

CH has also recommended setting goals for yourself for, say, 1 month, 6 months, 1 year, 5 years ahead. (I think whatever seems appropriate for short term, medium term and long term goals.) Then ask relevant spirit companions for help with that. I think maybe again we can invite our whole spirit family to help with that.

You can probably see from that why it's useful to have spirit companions who have a range of specialist abilities that can be brought to bear to help their keeper in their life. In at least one CH book I have it explains that this is a legitimate reason for deciding what spirit companions to have and that we should analyse our current and anticipatable needs and get bound spirit companions who can help with that. Those kind of tasks need to have realistic time frames built into them.

We can sit down with our spirit companions and review progress on a weekly or monthly basis, as appropriate.

I think there's a difference between asking a spirit companion to help with our day or our life in general - which can be a bit like letting them know what we want or are aiming for and giving them permission to, or inviting their, help with that - and formally giving an intensive task to a spirit that's meant to be their continual focus. Then they may need to be rotated from time to time so they can regroup and gather themselves.

Many spirit companions will naturally use their abilities to help us. But - instead of worrying that we're being a bit too selfish or harsh and dictatorial by handing out tasks - I like to think that our companions like to know what we want. And they want to help us. I think it's kind to let them know how they can help us.

Spirit companions can't make our lives fantasy-perfect. We shouldn't have delusory expectations but they can make a huge difference, if we let them. Tasking in one way or another helps them to help us.

@Kobald as answered you on tasking is pretty much a simple conversation and asking for help to do something to accomplish.

I don’t get your second question…what type of magic binding have you done? Are you referring for the arts as energy? Or the realms as energy? Astral realms generally got ethereal & celestial energies, for example.

As others have said, can you explain in more detail? And have you got a CH Shop url for the binding?

Most of the tasking I tend to do are what I call "boomerang" tasks: To remind me that I put their vessel on the counter if I take it off. If I go shopping to certain stores, they are to let me know if they want a certain candle or incense.

Or it's work-related. If a job has been nothing but problems, and the customer's deadline is fast approaching, I'll ask if they can please do what they can to make sure that the customer gets their package on time.

I am not one to task my companions. However, I do know that asking for help is quite similar to tasking. Whether you need immediate assistance or something bigger to be accomplished in the long run, your companions can always lend a hand.

Regarding the spell, it can be tailored to match your intentions. If you're looking to harness good luck energy, for instance, simply use the activation code, specify the good luck energy you want to work with, and outline how you intend to use it. Alternatively, if you're unsure about the specific energy name, just state your desired outcome and how you want the energy to benefit you. Like "the energy that helps me with spirit communication," or "the energy that helps me with X and I want it to apply to Y."

It depends on the spirit as to what tasks I may give them. Protection spirits take care of protection while one’s adept at magic may help me with spell work etc.
