Shadow selves

Noticed this section is pretty much dead, so i thought i'll revive it.

Has anyone met or know of their shadow selves, whether through shamanic work, meditation, or just know of them?

Are they representations or personifications of the id?

Do they scare the living daylights out of you, or is totally what you expected?

What do you do to deal with them - accept, acknowledge, ignore? What is their purpose, in spiritual terms?

Do they ever meld with you, or stay separate forever?

Interested to hear your thoughts!

i think i only met my shadow self maybe once in my life in a dream. i believe the shadow represents everything that ur conscious self isn't aware of. I feel once we actually unlock that part of ourselves and become aware of it, eventually things that used to be blocked would become clearer.
as for melding with you, i havent the foggiest idea, but these are just my thoughts

well i saw it and thought it be an interesting topic that should be discussed but maybe there were a few who have yet to experience it. did you ever experience or think you experienced your shadow self?
if not, what made you curious about it?
sorry if it seems im being too question-y

I have done extensive shadow work. The book that got me started, and that I pass on to those beginning the path of shadow work is:
Dark Moon Mysteries: Wisdom, Power and Magic of the Shadow World
Author: Timothy Roderick

I've met my shadow selves and there are about three of them.

One of them scares me the most - strangely, he's male even though i am female. The other two shadows are female.

i've met them and they are there, not too sure what to do next. I can't keep repressing/ignoring them forever.

Thanks for the book recommendation, Maythen, I'll check it out!

I've met my shadow self too... I thought she was really kind of annoying... negative, critical... I didn't quite know what to do during the encounter, as I wasn't looking to meet her... I was with my zimada and we were on our way to retrieve a piece of my soul.

Terror, I have a zimada and a moon wisp from Lisa, just invited into my family last month.

But i met my shadow selves long before I invited a zimada and moon wisp in.

I feel my moon wisp's energy - her vessel heats up sometimes when i'm holding it, but i haven't felt lady zimada yet... but i think she works when i'm sleeping.

The shadow self i fear most is nearly pure evil.. i still have much difficulty trying to accept the fact that there is such a side of me.
