Question for Magnolia on Angels...

Or I guess anyone else who may have heard of such...

Has anyone heard of... or know what is meant by the term "Purgatorial Angels?"
Does it mean anything to anyone?
I've been banging my head against a wall trying to figure it out, but i would like to hear others opinions, when I searched, I got something on Dante, but I don't think that's what it is.
I did find this:

Rashi notes that they are angels of destruction. Man is told that he must eventually die and is banished from paradise. He can only return to paradise after death, and before doing so, he must pass by these angels of purgatory (Bachya). The prophet must also pass these angels to approach the Tree of Life and obtain a vision. This is the significance of the cherubim on the Ark (Exodus 25:18), and those seen in Ezekiel's vision (Ezekiel 1:5, 10:15). (Rambam on Exodus 25:18).

EDIT.... I meant to also ask, this directed towards Magnolia, if she has ever in her conjurations come across something that has identified itself as an angel of purgatory or a "purgatorial angel"

I'd still be curious t see if anyone has encountered them, or if magnolia or ash has encountered them in conjuring

My guess is that there are not any but then again I do not believe in purgatory either.

From what I'm finding out I'm not so sure they actually have to do with "Purgatory" so much as cleansing. That is just how this being was referred to.

I once researched the angelic realm of angels and never ran across that through my readings; however, I will speculate on the matter and perhaps that may help generate further research for you and myself (at a later time). Like the different houses of angels, this could be one as well. The Angels of Purgatory could have a certain responsibility, such as the duty stated in the passage above (and maybe even more). As it seems, I would purpose that this is a set group of angels that are responsible for this specific task of guarding. These may also refer to the same very group of angels that were to guard/guarding the Garden of Eden after man had fallen. If memory serves me correctly, these angels had flaming swords; which is a signature trademark of the Archangel Michael.

Furthermore, the passage also refers to the Angels of Destruction. Which could very well go with the Angels of Purgatory. I would submit that these angels were commanded by the Archangel Michael via the Lord God Almighty.

That's my take on it, perhaps further research is necessary though...

I'm glad you bumped this I didn't see it, of course I've been gone almost all day the past few days. The only angels I've ever heard in relation to Purgatory is Michael & Gabriel. Of course these two fall into many, many classifications of Angels due to their wide reach of abilities.

However, if you want to work with an Angel for purpose of cleansing I would suggest Tahariel... the BEST choice bar none.
