I was reading the encyclopedia page here about keeping and connecting with Djinn. It seems to separate them into two main catergories:

1) pre-Islamic, Islamic, Arabic, Egyptian, African, Norse
&
2) Astral

The recommendations for interacting with each is different, but it didn't say which category a Marid Djinn falls under. Could someone help me understand this?

There may be at least 5 ways of looking at Djinn, using CH materials.

1 Classic types (eg Marid, Ifrit and so on)
2 'Races' - geographical / cultural origins (Egyptian, Arabian, pre-Islamic and so on)
3 Roles (eg Diatma, Abrar, Bisar and so on)
4 Realms of origin (eg Astral, spiritual and so on)
5 Belief system (eg Islamic, non-Islamic, Pagan, Norse Djinn and so on)

My point 1 above is how I first began thinking about Djinn classification, so for me a Marid is classified as a Marid. I'm far short of being an expert on Djinn, by the way. It may be worth asking CH support about their thinking on this.

Okay. Thank you. This is the page I was referring to https://www.creepyhollows.com/faq/index ... caring+for

I got a few specific suggestions from the conjurer herself, so I will just go with that... I don't want to do the wrong thing for the wrong type of Djinn (based on the link above).

For that page, marid would be included in the "pre-Islamic, Islamic, Arabic, Egyptian, African, Norse" section.

O yeah, usually it's better to follow the conjurer's instruction since different conjurers have different methods.

Thank you everyone for the replies. Marin falling under the pre-Islamic, Islamic, Arabic, Egyptian, African, Norse group is what I was wondering about. And if it specifically would be Arabic, that is nice to know just for curiosity sake. Thanks again.

Scroll down to the djinn section. See it for yourself. If you want to bond with your Marid Djinn from CH, you have to use Arabian Mardid Djinn code word. If its from elsewhere, then obviously this won’t apply.
