I'll start by linking to the Encyclopedia article for more information: http://www.creepyhollows.com/faq/index.php?action=artikel&cat=5&id=275&artlang=en

Dragons in general make excellent companions to Keepers because of their social nature & ability to genuinely appreciate someone.

Blue Dragons, have a diversity that makes them an essential companion to those who embark on magick endeavors. They influence a vast range of magickal energies and can create intense results.

The two most notable influences being Illusion & Imitation.

Illusion is a type of magick that puts a veil over someone or something to make it appear as something it is not. This can be slight to aggressive in application. An example of a case of slight Illusion would be the changing of someone's hair color from blonde to brown, or eye color from blue to green. An example of aggressive Illusion would be making something in front of you "disappear". Influencing perception from slightly altered to non-existent, and everything in between.

Blue Dragons used their Illusion ability for themselves (survival mechanism) as much as they did for those who solicited this power from them. Typically, when alive, a Blue Dragon would perform certain tasks either by force (being captured) or by bribe (providing gifts).

The Imitation ability was something used both for personal reasons (survival, amusement) and when captured & coerced was used for everything from entertainment purposes to more sinister reasons. Having a companion who can imitate anything, especially in voice, was a valuable commodity for humans in power. For all else it was incredibly amusing, and for the Dragon was not only amusing but a great way to survive (imitating their predators).

Beyond their abilities in Illusion & Imitation their ability to influence and manipulate magick is vast. They were the "wizards" of their race and dabbled in a little of anything and everything, and would learn from other species around them (Humans, Elves, Dwarves, etc) and incorporate their findings in their own practices.

In general Western Dragons were social with humans, and typically the gatherings of people who lived around them did not fear them or provoke them, but crusading slayers-for-hire often hunted them for various reasons. Sometimes they were hunted for body parts, and sometimes they were captured (usually the young) for personal, exotic pets or for entertainment in ancient carnival-like shows.
