What happens when the Seelie and Unseelie meet?

I know some people will say as spirits, there should be no fighting and they should obey house rules. I'm not in disagreement with this.

But i wonder about as entities as well. Do the two courts intermingle, like each other or do they avoid or disdain each other?

Whilst i'm on the subject, i see some people refer to these fae as the summer and winter court.
Are these the seelie and unseelie or are they just two types in the same court? Do they reflect the seasons in them?

They serve separate functions, here's what wikipedia has to say about them.
The Seelie court are known to seek help from humans, to warn those who have accidentally offended them, and to return human kindness with favors of their own. Still, a fairy belonging to this court will avenge insults and could be prone to mischief.[4] The most common time of day to see them is twilight.[5] Other names for the Seelie court are 'The Shining Throne' or 'The Golden ones' and 'The light Court'. The categorization of fairies based on court is whether or not a fairy is light or dark. Light fairies are known for playing pranks on humans and having a light hearted attitude, forgetting their sorrows quickly and not realizing how they might be affecting the humans they play pranks on.

The Unseelie Court consists of the darkly-inclined fairies. Unlike the Seelie Court, no offense is necessary to bring down their assaults.[6] As a group (or "host"), they appear at night and assault travelers, often carrying them through the air, beating them, and forcing them to commit such acts as shooting at cattle.[7][8] Like the beings of the Seelie Court who are not always benevolent, neither are the fairies of the Unseelie Court always malevolent. Most Unseelies can become fond of a particular human if they are viewed as respectful, and would choose to make them something of a pet. Some of the most common characters in the Unseelie Court are Bogies, Bogles, Boggarts, Abbey Lubbers and Buttery Spirits.[9] The division into "seely" and "unseely" spirits was roughly equivalent to the division of Elves in Norse mythology, into "light" and "dark" distinctions.

What I recall of my interactions with the main courts of the Seelie and Unseelie is that they are closely associated with the different seasons. Three queens for each of the courts the queen who was, the queen who is, and the queen yet to be. For the Seelie I knew the queens as Mother Summer, Titania, and Aurora. For the Unseelie I knew them as Mother Winter, Mab, and Mav. The power of the queens is a mantle that can change hands and eternal. There are other courts besides the Seelie and Unseelie, though they are among the largest.

Another thing worth mentioning, is that the Seelie Court is also referred to as the Day Court, because most of the fae belonging to the Seelie Court are diurnal, while the Unseelie Court is also known as the Night Court, because the majority of the fae belonging to the Unseelie Court are nocturnal. The "light" & "dark" labels don't necessarily correspond to the temperments of the fae belonging to those courts, but rather the times at which they are most active. That being said however, most creatures that live a nocturnal lifestyle are predators, and a great many of the fae belonging to the Unseelie Court are predatory in nature.

This also explains why the Seelie Court is referred to as the Summer Court, while the Unseelie Court is referred to as the Winter Court. During the Summer, days are longer and nights are shorter, while during Winter, the days are shorter and nights are longer, which means the Seelie Court is most active in Summer, while the Unseelie Court is most active in Winter.

Thankyou for this information. I'm liking this thread. But i'm still wondering how these fae react to each other?

I imagine it would vary depending on what types of fae were involved, what circumstances they were interacting under, etc.

Seelie Court consists of Spring and Summer while Unseelie Court consists of Fall and Winter

They generally try to avoid conflict when they meet, as it would have consequences on their surroundings. Either they acknowledge one another in a formal way and then part again or they don't, but I think they tend to the first option. They might are not fond of each other, but it does not necessarily mean trouble.

The unseelie don’t have anything against the seelie. The unseelie just don’t like humans so they branched off from the court.

Spoken like a fae. Not entirely true, nor exactly a flat out lie. The unseelie are completely separate from the seelie and always have been just as winter is seperate from summer. They harbor no direct ill towards each other, and no one said they had anything against each other. What has been said is that certain types of unseelie don't get along at all with certain seelie. Heck, certain unseelie don't get along with other unseelie. The courts are opposites, they are twins that with out one the other would either be unbalanced or not exist.
