Musical Ear Syndrome: Another cause of "hearing things"

When someone hearing-impaired constantly'/frequently hears music when there isn't any around and they don't show any signs of psychosis or disorganized thought, one cause can be Musical Ear Syndrome. Vision-impaired people can get something similar with visual hallucinations. My mom has had problems with hearing things and I was very worried about her mental health until I found out about this.

I think if you have hearing problems and you've asked your companions to please knock off the music and banished every unbound in sight, this might be worth looking into. There are some drugs that can trigger this as well.

You know in some occult practices (I'm thinking of Franz Bardon's Initiation Into Hermetics), you practice developing your own visual and auditory hallucinations. It gets very real. It's a way to naturally develop very good visualising skills.

I think there is a link of some sort with tinnitus. The ringing sounds can come with certain meditation techniques, not just when there's a mechanical loss of function in someone's ear.

The way our neurological systems work is fascinating. They're a lot more flexible than we tend to think.

And I don't think that it's necessarily either mechanical or spiritual. The content can have spiritual meaning but have mechanical causes. Though in my mom's case it seems to have been completely meaningless to her.
