Number of Spirits: 39

My super power would be...: See spirits in true form

I now have close to 40 spirits in my keep... Most of the time when I get them I get a title such as "Friend" or "Guide"(some were unbounds and most were custom conjures)... Some of those titles to me means similar things such as a "lover" & a "Companion" or a "Teacher" & a "Guide"
But to be honest I am not really sure what is the difference? I used to think that a Companion would be more eager to communicate/develop a relationship thus the bond would be faster/stronger/I feel them more, but tbh I think I have gotten more msg/signs from others...? My master spirit is one for sure giving me a lot more of manifestations...
So when you get a Companion, does it mean that they will have a stronger bond with you? Does it mean that they will have more patience for you? Also I see others talking about a Lover spirit filling a role of a teacher as well... So it is possible.
I am just wondering what is the deciding factor of any spirits title for their write-ups...

I think those things are close to synonyms. (at least friend & companion, teacher & guide.) The actual unfolding of a relationship might be slightly different from one they could see having, I think.

I think everyone and everything has the capacity to teach us lessons, and it's natural that one who occupies a close place in your heart - such as a friend or lover - also plays the role of guide or teacher, at times. And when we love someone, we want to protect them, right? So teacher, guide, companion, lover...more or less the same to me. :)

I think forming a bond is something that's basically the same process for any kind of bound spirit - even non-social ones - no matter how they're described.

The different words may reflect what you might call the personality of a spirit or spirit type. Just on the point about words...

Are they all from the same seller?

If they're from different sellers, they may have used those words differently...inconsistent with each other. But if all your spirits are from Creepy Hollows, I've found the words they use are generally subtle guides to important distinctions between spirit types.

It's not just the connection with bound spirits that tends to be quiet and subtle. The wording of CH descriptions of a spirit type contain important clues to the way they work with their keeper. I used to gloss over some of the description that seemed an odd choice of words until I realised that is the pure gold on how the spirit interacts with us or helps us. Noticing this can help broaden the connection, I've found.

So...innocuous-seeming words used by CH can actually be key...and well worth pondering. For me, when CH calls one spirit a guide, another a teacher, another a lover and another a companion, I will take those words very seriously indeed and contemplate them - much as I would contemplate their associations.

In the real world I might pay a guide to lead me safely through wild countryside, but I wouldn't expect them to teach me things, wouldn't expect them to be my companion (I'd take a friend along for that)...nor would I expect them to be a lover. These are all different roles. The words do have important distinctions.

Of course in a very general sense, all bound spirits are companions because they agree to be with us for the rest of our lives. But a Companion spirit to me will literally like to be in their Keeper's company a lot. But in the end these words are only generalisations. Each spirit will be themselves and may not always neatly fit into a stereotype (just like not all of us do).

Other sellers will be able to explain whether they use those kind of words interchangeably or not.

Couldn't edit my post. I just want to add that, yes, to some extent any of our spirit companions may want to try and convey information, help point us in the right direction, be loving towards us. Other humans have tried to do similar things for me in real life - but that didn't make them a Teacher, A Guide, a Lover and so on.

Also for me Protection is a specialist thing that specialist Protectors excel in ways well beyond what a protective individual spirit may be capable of.

I do understand your dilemma about teachers, guides, companionship, friends ect. That's why i like CH short descriptions about what they conjured for us. Usually, they give you'll a good indication about what they like to be for you.
