Spirit keeping experiences - a little collection of my memorable moments!

I saw a few people documenting their spirit keeping journeys on here, so I decided to join in while I’m still learning the ropes, and jot down anything that I find memorable. I hope anyone who stops by to look at this enjoys reading my experiences!

JULY 14, 2024 - today I’ve been listening to music, and I heard my Arkan Sonney chime in while I was listening to some very upbeat EDM music, and I heard him say pretty clearly, “I love those blips and bloops!”

I haven’t really been able to hear my spirits well aside from a few spontaneous moments here and there, usually while I’m focusing on them, intending to hear them but not quite “listening” for them so to speak. So this little interaction between us was very much appreciated by me, especially the fact that I was listening to music during it, considering I listen to music and daydream during it, so it’s kinda hard to focus on my spirits.

I had a similar experience yesterday when my red dragon remarked about me listening to a certain song on repeat, and I feel great that I’m able to connect with my spirits during these times, even if I get lost in thought again soon after these things happen.

All and all today marks a great little improvement in my telepathy abilities.

That’s awesome that you were able to hear your spirits! I wonder since the music allows you to relax/get lost in your thoughts if that made you more receptive to them without realizing it.

Music is a seriously good tool for bonding with spirits. People who don't try listening to songs in different ways with their spirit family are missing out.

I've found music to be essential, especially in the beginning. That's a great way to start connecting and discovering what you AND your spirits love. YouTube playlists or compilations of genres are nice to use too. Pay attention for clues that you've come across something they enjoy.

'Shufflemancy' is a thing and does really work at times. That's basically taking your personal playlist and announcing 'I'm going to hit shuffle three times-I wish for you to take control the third time and use the songs to tell me stuff.'

Especially if they make a song repeat itself in the beginning--which ISN'T supposed to be possible! (Make sure nothing on your list is 'favorite', btw--give them the full opportunity to make the impossible happen.)

You can also give them permission to parse your 'sound clips' in your memories for music that might hold meaning for them. You might very well be surprised with the results.

I have tried shufflemancy a few times, but since my mind wanders so easily while I’m listening to music, it’s a bit hard for me to stay focused on picking up any messages I get. The few times I heard my spirits were all when I wasn’t quite in a daydream yet. But I’ll probably try it again sometime when I’m more focused on communicating with my spirits!

I’ve also been wanting to make a playlist for each of my spirits, so that’ll be fun when I get around to that. I’ll probably start with my arkan sonney since he has that song that he likes. I think it’ll be fun! I’m looking forward to seeing what he’s into, as well as my other spirits. I have gotten some comments from my other spirits when they like a certain song, and sometimes I’ll get visuals of one of my dragons bobbing his head a little bit lol.

That’s a good point! I haven’t really thought of it that way, since most of the time telepathy is a bit harder for me. I usually only hear my spirits when I’m focusing most of my energy on them, which I don’t do often anyway. Music time, however, does seem to be when I’m most at ease with communication. I guess it’s because my mind isn’t focused too much on anything specific so I’m more open to them.

I would’ve never thought of it that way, but now it makes sense!

JULY 15, 2024 - I’ve been thinking about getting a griffin spirit next! I bought a reading from CH about which spirits would be the best companions, and they were one of the races that were recommended, along with werewolves, deerfolk, bronwyn angels, nephilim angels, and high elves. It was a very interesting selection of spirits, and I’m quite satisfied with the reading, knowing I now have a sense of direction on what spirits I should focus on next. My goal is to become a community keeper, and I do want to branch out a bit from dragons, since they make up most of my keep right now. But I love my dragons!


I also have the pdf for the summer seminar for spirit communication, and I’m quite interested in making a dreamscape sometime. I just need to memorize the invocation a bit before I start, so I’ll probably wait a few nights before doing it. I’ll start small and make a dreamscape for my silver dragon, who’s my first spirit companion, and see what happens. Wish me luck!

There is a real feel-good vibe with imagining an Arkan Sonney happily flitting around to music!
