Dynamic Orb Fusion

My apologies if this has already been asked somewhere else in this forum but I have looked and I can't find the answer I am looking for.
I have a dynamic discovery orb on the way and was reading about the "fusion" part of it. If you want to fuse certain spells to certain spirits do you just say the code word and poof its done? Or do you hold the vessel of the spirit in one hand and the vessel of the spell in the other and say the code word?
This also got me thinking because I have on my wish list a Custom Trifecta for Protection.. However with this fusion part of the dynamic orb can't I pretty much make my own Trifecta using spirits and spells I already have?

I just figured I would ask here to see if anyone already has asked or done this before as I most likely would not get a response till Monday from CH..

In case anyone else has this question in the future this is the response from CH...

"With this function you will need to hold the vessels of both and say the code words and then they will be fused. As for the trifecta the bindings will be "similar" to a trifecta however, not a true trifecta. You can do this and even though its not a true trifecta it will help you more with your bindings. I hope this helps. "
