I was at the lounge I regularly frequent and they've been doing something cool where they gather painting materials and canvases for people who want to create something. I sat down, and spent about two hours and a half just applying paint to canvas, wiping it, smearing it, forming it, and slathering it in the way that felt right to me all while going into an almost trance like state. When I was done, red paint was crusted under my nails and this tragic beauty came out of the wreckage.

I don't know about you guys, but even holding it now, there's a buzz to it that's unmistakable. I think that during that trance something magickal may have occured. Though maybe it's just biased to think such a thing...not to mention a little silly sounding. I need second opinions.

What do you guys think?
Magickal or just a normal painting?

Be honest!

15 MLG maybe?

I'm kidding.

Personally speaking, the art itself evokes feelings of being trapped, but in spite of that, clearing out the toxicity and sadness around it's confined space. It wants to survive, even if it gets hurt in the process of trying.

As for the magickal aspect, I couldn't say. It feels light to me. Like an ocean breeze. So I know something is there but it's so "misty" that I can't place what it is. Hence why I wanted opinions.

(This is just my personal opinion, I am sorry if it's not the answer you seek for)
For me, this drawing looks like a palm/hand is in the dark sea, and the green moss around the sea,
which means to me is like there're still obstacles even you cross the dark sea, the red palm, which is struggling in the dark sea.
the red parts look like bloo, swear and tears, sometimes the red part is so deep and clear, sometimes it looks like diluted red,
it looks like the tears and sweat mixed together with the blood. The white part in the palm looks like a shape of an angel with sword(if you look clearly
, just kinda looks like it), that means there's still people or maybe your spirit companions helping you to get out of the red hand palm.
Anyways pls refer to the pic:https://imgur.com/a/IKPOVCn
I may not be right and this is just my personal opinion thanks :)

Maybe it's like a treasure map.

Kinda like saying, you need to find something in a dark/harsh place. A piece of you is wanting to be uncovered, and you have the ability to come get it.

The art maybe magical in the sense that it holds that kind of potential for you.

Glad you understood what I was asking. I was kinda vague.

They say we all bring to art our own perspective at the time we see it.

To me it's like a hand painting seen in prehistoric cave art. But here, rather than the cave rock being a background, there's a vaguely water colours (blue & green) background. So yes it does come across to me as having that primeval resonance to it.

They apparently used to fill their mouths with the pigment and spit-spray it over the hand, leaving the shape of the hand on the rock face. It's thought they would possibly do that while in trance state. And the imprint is evocative of that trance state, to me. In this case, having modern paint materials available, you've painted the whole hand.

You must stay on the path. Do not leave it.
If you do, you'll never...
find it again.
No matter what may come, stay on...
the path! [Gandalf, in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug]

After awhile I realized, I can see alot of neat things in the picture. With your permission, can I copy the image you posted and use it as my background for awhile?

I wouldn't be against it if that's your wish. ♡
Though I can always try to get a closer photo if you need it. I still have the painting so I'm not against taking better shots if people want me to.

Your knowledge of seemingly completely random things is always fun to read because you always tend to give a unique introspection to a particular headache I'm dealing with. That said, now all I wanna do is go full primal and paint something that way. Albeit it's probably not a good idea...chemicals and all...I might have to make my own paint out of berries and such to be able to do that safely...hmmmm.
