Figured it would be worth sharing "recipes" for herb blends that I use as dry offerings in my keep! All herbs are ground in a mortar and pestle and offered on a platter to the spirit or immortal. I usually acquire my herbs at a local magick shop which has a nice selection available

Fria's Delight
Used for feminine immortals
- 4 parts rose petals
- 3 parts damiana
- 2 parts peppermint
- 1 part lavender

Faery Food
Used for faeries
- 2 parts rose
- 2 parts raspberry or strawberry leaves
- 1 part mistletoe
- 1 part bay leaves or moss

Noble Kingdom
Loved by my camelot faery
- 2 parts rosemary
- 1 part thyme
- 1 part mistletoe
- 1 part cloves

Seductive Djinn
Used for lover spirits
- 2 parts lavender
- 2 parts damiana
- 1 part rose

Forest Gaze
Used for my elves and spirits with strong earthen association

___

Does anyone else here use ground herbs in offerings, and what blends have you experimented with for such purposes?

I love working with herbs and resins. My favorite shop has walls filled floor to ceiling of so many kinds. I've made a lot of different blends but mostly from guidance of my companions.
The current blend I am working with was given to me by my ancestors and used for lucid dreams and astral traveling. It's super potent and also protects at the same time. I pour it into offering bowls to my ancestors.

Nymphaea caerulea
Artemisia Vulgaris
Santalum
Origanum
Dictamnus
Achillea Millefolium
Bergamot 2 drops oil dropped onto a piece of raw sandalwood.
I put it in a lace pouch with an apophylite and hold it while meditating or sleeping. My companions have their own bag, but with a kyanite crystal instead. Their bowls have some as well.

I also have a separate pouch with a blend of benzoin resin, Frank and myrhh resin, strawberry pieces and dragons blood resin that my dragons like. It gets placed on a hot coat for offerings.

My fairies have various likes. But the most popular blend they enjoy is a mix of blue cornflower, fennel, Spanish moss, and a tiny bit of honey amber. No burning just offering in a small dish next to honey.

I won't wordwall you with all my blends lol but those are the most loved so far. We always making new ones with different blends.

Awesome blends Seraphina! I'm happy to be wordwalled about yours; this is the place I wanted to hear about herb blends after all. I need to start using herbs in spellwork as well.

I was going to make a snarky remark about 'herb blends' we just bought on the Indian reservation--then I looked some of these things up...

Don't... don't light those offerings... x*D

The only thing legit I have to add is for elementals, (air, water) the blends are best served in a bowl of steaming hot water--makes the house smell nice too.

Currently use lavender and blue lotus--but I just ordered jasmine to add. This is a 'keep-wide' / wife appreciated aroma.

Nice blends @Hitthuginn

I don't remember anything off the top of my head...and I am rubbish at writing things down, but I blend my own loose incenses. I've not done any for a while because I can't burn anything on charcoal in my current home. If I do it will set off all the fire alarms off in this flat and I do not want to annoy my landlord.... I just about get away with burning candles in jars and stick incense (when the window is wide open)

Looking through my herb and resin jars, I use dried juniper berries, red sandalwood, mugwort, chamomile, rose petals, garden sage, and lavender the most.

At the moment, there are a few in my keep that are enjoying sampling my extensive tea collection, especially the more unusual Chinese and Japanese teas.

I would always recommend trying to grow your own if it's at all possible.

Many culinary herbs which also have magical uses will grow quite happily in pots on a kitchen windowsill. I've got mint, parsley, dill, coriander, oregano, and rosemary growing in pots on mine.
