One of my favorite conjurers routinely has spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, and run-on sentences in their write-ups for spirits and readings. And yet I consider them to be among the best in the field for overall write-up quality. They describe the new companion and their personality and behaviors in words that are entirely their own. People using AI as a crutch for poor language skills need to realize that it is replacing their words with something repetitive and soulless. No sincere customer is going to care about minor errors in your phrasing or typing if the spirit and words written of them are legitimate, whereas using AI robs you of some of that legitimacy even IF the binding is real. The fact is, conjurers who complain about buyers being opposed to AI are cheapening the appearance of their services and reducing the number of people who will be willing to buy them.

@Alaric 100%, AI will alter tone, words, and context - it can be used to rewrite content. Spell check or grammar check will correct structural issues. Speaking only for myself, I am no master in writing, but I express genuine and pure communication, flaws and all.
@WiseRavenRunes
For clarity's sake, the use of technology in the practices of magick, conjuring, and the supernatural is part of the initial conversation - you can't use technology to replace the essential participants - conjurer, practitioner, spirit, entity, or Immortal.
In the time of technology, as things become more technologically advanced, if you have to use technology in the terms of AI with photo/image generation to accurately depict the offering related to the listing, great! Or, using advanced technology to have a more responsive website and better shopping experience, fab! Or, using AI to provide initial support/responses to customers with a chat bot until you can get back to them personally if-needed, wonderful!
These are all valid and fantastic reasons to implement technology because they suit a shop or website to stay up with the times in terms of security, customer experience, payment processors, etc. They are fantastic ways to take advantage of advances in technology while not negatively infecting the supernatural, spiritual, or magickal work being provided or performed.

Also, 100% correct. It has already called the legitimacy of not just the Spirit Keeping community, but the entire Magick community, as well. Those who haven't been around 5, 10, 15, or 20 years, and are coming into this for the first time, are getting their first exposure to this with a heavily AI-laden experience. Which, immediately casts a gigantic shadow of doubt. The majority of prospective customers, and even existing customers, are not going to write in for a shop's detailed explanation of why AI is being is used to write listings, bios, readings, spells, blogs, tutorials, articles, etc. They are going to be a predetermined assumption based on what they see and judge the shop and experience on that alone. With the continued emergence of AI-detection tools via websites, browser extensions, apps, etc. it's just going to be more of a prevalent experience. While I realize that the marketplace experiences, like Etsy, are the biggest offenders for this, what it will cause is a general appearance and assumption that listings or sites are bot-generated, there is no human involvement, and ergo, fake.cheapening the appearance of their services and reducing the number of people who will be willing to buy them.
Thank you for taking the time to respond with your practices, and I'm sure customers and prospective customers appreciate insight. In relation to this part of your comment, I don't think it's a fall behind issue in relation to this discussion, which is specifically the use of AI to write content that the customer receives, which the customer believes to be the pure communication between the conjurer and the companion (spirit, entity, or Immortal), or the pure communication from the practitioner and their reading. This is the root of the discussion. If a shop or practitioner generates all written information via AI then the content is from AI and the contributors to the AI module. When something is completely generated via AI there isn't anything pure or honest in the actual words of the practitioner and/or any companion (spirit, entity, or Immortal). In fact, the more you feed something into AI to summarize and rephrase something, the more defunct it becomes. We are in the times of technology. Use it or fall behind. The world is only going to get more technically advanced.

Hello! You would be absolutely correct. When I use the bot, it's to only enhance my writing. My biographies have always been 3+ pages of information, so it's not like I'm adding fluff to expand the companion documents. I take a bland sentence and the bot gives it flair, with all the information remaining accurate and true to the daemon companion's nature.Alaric wrote: Fri Dec 26, 2025 9:54 pmHello. It sounds like you may be ensuring the orignal description you wrote remains true, even after AI help with editing. This could be not much different from using the grammar and spelling check in a word processor, depending on who's proof reading the editing.Eden's Eve wrote: Fri Dec 26, 2025 7:39 pm [...]
Now, using A.I to enhance your writing does come with its flaws. So if you do so, expect to still be doing editing, as it like to spit out randomness. I do not think it's bad to use a tool to enhance your writing, [...]
I made a point earlier in the thread. I think @Magnolia also made more or less the same point in her comments. It's that when I do conjurations for myself, the way beings express themselves to me varies quite a lot. Sometimes their communication doesn't seem entirely grammatically correct but, when I contemplate the message in its pure, original version - ie without me having tried to paraphrase it into a more 'nornal' sentence, it resonates far more with meaning and energy, their original intent, their personality etc.
So what I think would be lost if I tried to edit the initial 'reading' of what the spirit tries to tell me would be, as Magnolia says, a lot.
I am - and would be - happy for any message from a spirit companion to be relayed to me in the form it was originally received, no matter whether it was grammatically imperfect. In fact that would be an added bonus for me, as I'm not sure all spirit types think and talk in exactly similar concepts or perspectives on reality to what's embedded in modern grammar check tools or AI editing.
I think that's a valid preference to have. So I completely get @Magnolia's explanation of that point.
Now, when it comes to relaying a message from daemon companion to the human companion, I won't edit that. (For example, sometimes the more ancient ones tend to talk completely different, almost with old English verbiage) For these are not my words to edit. I can also see Magnolia's point with that part and I agree with her there.

I completely agree. I also agree with you about how using A.I can make your document get lost in translation and take away from the originality of the spirt or entity that you are bringing forth. That's why I'm careful not to allow that to happen. Basically, the A.I adds nice adjectives to my writing, keeping the core material the same. Yes, I could use a thesaurus but that takes a lot more time then telling A.I to "improve" my sentence. Still, though, I must edit after it. Because it will take away the originality of the companion if I do not.Magnolia wrote: Sat Dec 27, 2025 12:22 am For clarity's sake, the use of technology in the practices of magick, conjuring, and the supernatural is part of the initial conversation - you can't use technology to replace the essential participants - conjurer, practitioner, spirit, entity, or Immortal.
I must also apologize because I entered the conversation late while it had derailed. I want to further clarify, I agree with your first post about the fly by night shops and how AI is making it too easy to copy our shops without plagiarizing. (It's being done to me too) So I can see why you made a PSA about A.I.
This next part is my PSA and not directed at any specific individual. To anyone casting judgment on me for using A.I to enhance my sentences, allow me to remind you that, the bot doesn't take away from my abilities or quality of work as a conjurer, it just enhances my literature that I produce to a professional level. It also doesn't change the essence of the companion, for I keep the information from how they appear, what their energy feels/lookslike, to their personality traits accurate and aligned to them. Thankfully I've been publicly conjuring since 2017 and most people know I'm a respectable conjurer.

I would much rather read 4 or five very basic lines than paragraphs of AI rubbish. It's so bad that I don't purchase the pre-conjures I would otherwise be interested in because the AI write up just feels so soulless and fake. Its a shame too, because some conjurors have good reputations but its just a turn off. Also, some pre-conjured beings are described as coming from realms that seem AI created as well, and those realms have never been mentioned by the sellers before either.
IDK, AI may be flowery and fancy, but its also vague and empty if that makes any sense.
Lastly, there was one seller that has a great reputation (I have never purchased from them) that had a companion for US$250. For that price they couldn't even be bothered to write a few lines about the entity, instead using AI to create what seemed to be a ridiculous back story that left me scratching my head in disbelief. It just creates so much doubt!

Thank you for the stance on AI in text and magic; however....
As an artist, I still heavily disagree with the use of AI in images as well as text.
It's still damaging, and I cannot, in good faith, purchase from any brand using AI in their image work.
