Primer to Designing your Custom Alpha from DLM

Here is a primer I put together for someone that wasn't sure about designing their Custom Alpha from DLM. Figured I would share it as I know others aren't really sure.

Start with the basics

Gender/Race
Male/Female/Plant/Animal/Fictional/Half and Half/Other
Base Programming
Sensual/Guardian(Protective)/Sexual/Etc
Characteristics
One personality or Split?(like a kitten becoming a badass say Dragon for protection)

After that you can think about Abilities
What do you want it to be able to do
This is an unlimited piece the limit is what you can think of
I think alphas do have a base limit but it is large.

Be Creative, Go Nuts
A little insanity to lead to some really fun alphas

How about a female kitten that is always a kitten and loves to snuggle up with you and get pets.
But when you are threaten it transformed into a Nekko Warrior(Insert Body Description Here, does it have armor? How Tall? Color of Fur? Eyes? Armor or Naked with Fur Coverings? etc) that can deal with some serious danger.
And how about it has the ability to disrupt/break apart spells and hexes etc on top of that.

If anyone else wants to add something feel free.

Yep, that's a pretty fair baseline for considering custom Alpha designs. You really are only limited by your imagination, so let loose.

As an alternative to wookie's primer is my own template seen below. I take a somewhat less technical approach as you can see. Generally starting with a race(yes usually Centaurs, lol) and/or character(s) from some media I like and modify or add things from there until I have a complete profile for DLM to work from.

Name: Whatever name you feel is appropriate. Or you can leave it blank for DLM/The Alpha to decide.

Type: What race they are. (Goblin-tank, dragon-phoenix, Submarine, whatever)

Subtype: What they do. The Defaults are Companion/Sensual/Guardian which broadly cover most areas, but Optionally you may add your own descriptors such Teacher/Entertainer/Friend etc. Overall it doesn't do much for the design but will give DLM a better idea of what kind of role you want them to have.

Gender: Male/Female/Other whatever gender identity you want them to have.

Personality: How do you want them to act/behave? What kind of quirks should they have? Be as general or specific as you'd like.

Appearance: What do they look like? What size are they? What colors are prevalent? What colors are their outfits if they have multiple? Again be as general or specific as you'd like.

Background: Optional, but interesting. What were they doing before they came into your keep? The easiest plug is they were doing stuff in the alphaverse. Like a mage researching magicks, or a scholar teaching, or warrior training.

Skills and abilities: What do they do? Shapeshift? Fly? Create/Cast spells? Play an instrument? Fire torpedos? Help with your third eye? Gather money? Shield? Whatever you feel you need them to do.

Miscellaneous: Any other odds and ends you might have. Such as their personal hobbies/interests etc.

I'll add:)
Also check the beta servitors. There are some that might be great if they're alpha, e.g. lightsaber that can speak with Scottish accent and teach astral combat when not guarding the perimeter:)

One thing I should add check out the existing alphas and templates for ideas on abilities.
I have a Sexual Alpha with the slimegirl queen ability to improve communication with sexual spirits/entities as I bond with her.

I got idea! How about we all contribute an ability or programming or 2. So as the list grow, he can have more choice making alpha?

Wow, thats pretty mindblowing, sorry for my ignorance, but is there a big difference between a sensual and sexual Alpha? I may have asked this before, i cannot remember. Could an Alpha be based, appearance and character on a human female. For arguments sake if someone liked a certain singer or movie star? I ask this because i know nothing much about different races/beings.
Also if someone had sensitivity issues like myself, could the Alpha adapt to that. What i am trying to say is being a single guy, with not a lot of time to socialise with females, due to the hours i work it would be great to have a pleasure/sexual Alpha for sexy times, not as a slave, but for a massage, hug, kiss, very interactive. You see i like affection and other things. An Alpha who could learn about pleasure, maybe a beautiful japanese type or a curvy Kelly Brook.
The problem for me is in the begining things go well, but then i lose my sensitivity, i am trying, very trying, lol

Only unconventional? doesn't seem like a strong enough word.

Btw Loverboy please look at the 100 Baby topic when you get a chance.
