@RenFaireMaiden I think it's normal to sometimes experience doubt or question what one is experiencing, when it comes to Spirit Keeping. I know I still do, even after having been Spirit Keeping for over a decade now.

"Was that my spirit?"

"Was that real, or is that just my mind playing tricks on me?"

"I'm probably just imagening that."

Even with experiences I've experienced years ago, I sometime still question or think back at. If it's less constructive things I'm thinking of, that happened a long time ago, my spirit companion will sometime pop in, and wonder why I'm still thinking about it - because it's 'water under the bridge.' Which is a fair point, actually.

But my connection isn't always 100% clear.

I have no doubt but I'm sometimes uncertain whether I've understood a message correctly.

That's probably normal for the vast majority of us.

I mean how often do we living humans misunderstand each other? In the past, how often would a radio drift in and out of clear reception of a strong broadcast signal?

So there's that kind of uncertainty left. Philosophical certainty but varying clarity.

Don't dwell on doubt or worry. They easily form blocks.

The counter intuitive thing is: the more we ease off, relax and don't strive, the more smoothly spirit connection can go. When we're not bothered, it can flow and we don't
get worked up about it.

Spirit communication can be easiest when we're not attached to what happens and we just idly note it then review it at leisure.

I hope somewhere in there is something that's either useful or interesting.

As Alaric said, sometimes my spirit communication is always 100% [with a certain spirit companion]. In some occassions the communication with them may be super clear, when I'm relaxed and not too overly attached to the outcome (of what they'll say), given that the last one may make me tensed or anxious. Which can form blockages, as Alaric pointed out.

So, I'm trying to relax more into my conversations and communion with my spirit companions. Which is easier said than done sometimes, because it's easy to fall back into the same mistakes and/or pit falls as I've done before, at times. It can happen.

I believe we all as Spirit Keepers go through the same trail and errors, and then learn through experience, from the resources written by the CH admins (Magnolia and Ash) have written here on the CH Forum and the CH Encyclopedia, and last but not least, each other.

It sounds like you've already have got one foot in, when it comes to spirit communication, and last but not least being able to 'see' your companion(s). And it's pretty cool that your significant other was able to confirm that, since he's also seen the white ghostly figure. I'm rooting for you, RenFaireMaiden.

I agree. I have those thoughts.

The imagination can be a wild thing and I've always been a dreamer so that could possibly work against me at times. So I too, am trying to relax and not really expect to get much and/or obsess over the outcome.

And yes, we all go through trial and error . It's a part of learning in anything we do. I talk to some of my friends and they listen, but for the most part, I think they are just entertaining me But here is a good place for the advice and experiences.

Thank you so much for your kind words and rooting for me I never thought I'd be into keeping spirits let alone trying to communicate, but I'm glad I've started this journey.
