Warlocks

Hey all this is a bit of a silly topic but....
Can anyone tell me more about Warlocks? Like what kind of magic they use, what kind of person defines themselves as one, whether they are evil etc?
I had a look online and all that came up was that they work with evil magick.
To be honest I'd take more note of what this community says about the definition and characteristics than a wiki article.
Thing is I recently had an unbound attracted to me and had him bound, I found out he was the familiar to an Ancient Warlock before me.
What can I expect?
