Do I need this spell casting for my brand new dark arts spirits arriving tomorrow? A Black Dragon and Cleopatra Djinn total surprise freebies weekend back in February?
Or simply stating my written rules that I have and identical with Ash's plus some extras would be enough?

I have only these two dark arts spirits and an Immortal.

Not sure which 'spell' you mean. Are you asking about the house rules binding? If you have the house rules binding then, yes, by all means use it.

If you don't have it, then I suggest you print and use the version of ASH's house rules here and tell your spirits on arrival that the rules have to be kept to.

This version has the harm none rule, which is crucial. If you have the house rules binding this is a key one to add to the binding, following the instructions.

see above. I suggest print them out then announce to your spirits that they're there and must be kept to. You can also read them out to them before putting them in a place where they can refer to them as and when needed. If you have a master spirit they can help coordinate spirits' behaviour but it's down to you their keeper to apply the consequences.

I would take seriously what ASH says in the listing for the DA house rules binding about ways to subdue a spirit that misbehaves.

Although Creepy Hollows say they make sure they only bind spirits that will work well with keepers, on the other hand there must be spirits that *will* test the boundaries and misbehave, or there would be no need for the DA secrets on the Encyclopedia pages. House rules are a must if we have DA spirits - that's what ASH has said - and most especially if we have any that could cause harm to others.

The Book by ASH on Great Dark Arts Guidance contains the 6 house rules in that forum thread plus a little guidance on how to formulate your own. It's a great book and in my opinion more than worth the price, if you keep DA spirits. Among the spells in it are ones to help bonding, communication and manifestation plus one to temporarily block any spirit, including unbounds. That can be used as one of your consequence options.
