short incense sticks?

I have a cat statue from India, and it has holes on either side of the base for what I assume is stick incense. I'm thinking short incense would be best for less mess.
What are your favorite types for this? Satya, Morning Star, Nippon Kodo, etc.?
Has anyone tried Nature Nature's Resin on a Stick and cut it into shorter pieces?

Haven't used incense that often(though I could and probably should more often) but I found a place near me that has incense sticks for each zodiac.I've also seen dragon's blood incense sticks at a wal mart with other ones that looked intresting but can't think of what they were called at the moment.Thoughs may be good to use though if you want one that's of a plant I'm not sure though I think I saw hibiscus somewhere and I have pine so thoughs are two other ones.

Can't think of other ones off the top of my head though just a thought from how you say you think the holes are for incense but could they be ment for cones.I haven't used them but if your looking for something short to avoid a mess that may work if it burns from the larger end.Thoughs are my thoughts on this.

Blessed be

The holes are definitely too small for cones.
It's been a while since I've used Nag Champa so I can't remember what length the sticks are. I'll probably get some again though.
