I understand it can be used by tenured members, although I haven't used it myself. I think it is probably used far less than it used to be, or than might be used in other types of forums.

Apparently it is available, but whether or not you have access to it varies. I haven't requested PM access as I'd rather just avoid getting messages here altogether, lol. I don't want to waste peoples' time thinking I will respond when I can't assure that I ever will do anything more than view the message.

I hadn't realized that it disappeared until I spotted this thread. Then I thought, for a moment, that it was an old thread until I spotted the date on the OP.
I agree that the recent forum changes are probably the reason why PMs disappeared. I hope they will restore it sooner than they did the last time PMs went on hiatus, lol.
