PAPERBACK SWAP - FREE BOOKS, NO JOKE

I'm going to keep this thread at the top because this is a really, cool site!

http://www.paperbackswap.com

It is for those who want to trade books and it's not a gimmick or a trick. It allows book-readers to trade books with one another saving you from buying them. This is like a giant, worldwide library except you can choose to keep the book or read it & swap again!

When someone picks one of your books for trade you will receive notification and you mail them the book; which is a cost of about $2.10-$2.40 for media mail. The people whose books you choose pay the postage to you so it is an even trade.

Enjoy! And share your experiences please!

Hmmm, this is pretty cool XD

I was just saying to a friend how I needed to find some more books to read... although I don't know if I could part with any of mine  so I guess that would defeat the purpose

Pretty awesome, but...yup, if only I weren't so freakin stingy with my books.

Sounds like a great idea, too bad I just threw all of my old kiddy books away.

I've traded on this site before. I was looking for an out-of-print book and this was the only site that had it. Amazon didn't even have it.

Neet! Reminds me a bit of www.bookcrossing.com. I found a Book Crossing book near my house, and got inspired to release a few of my books into the wild, but no one posted about them, unfortunately. Not that I have kids, but I felt like I'd let kids move out and they never wrote.

This is really great, and I'll probably dump a ton of my paperbacks on there because I have a Kindle now and don't really need all of them taking up so much space. D:

Everyone that's a huge reader should get a Kindle. I thought I would hate it and I swear I've read more since I've gotten it in November than I have in the past five years!

My thoughts exactly, I signed up today as I want to get rid of all my old books as well as my husbands political books..I have my Kindle now as well..I only plan on getting magical reference books or cook books in tangible form. The rest will be Kindle material.
