great question to cause one to really think. the first thing that comes to my mind is the ancient book of imhotep, that book where he kept his recipes for medicines, surgical techniques and spellwork along with his architectural sketchings. then i began to think of nostradamus and a glass ball but then i thought further back and thought about the oracle at delphi and her divination tools and the stygian witches and their glass seeing "eye". more recently i would have to settle on the grimoires of the early popes which are housed in a very secret area of the vatican. given more time and consideration i might come up with a few more choice items but this is a really good list here. otherwise i'd settle for the sword of king leonides or excalibur of arthurian legend...while there perhaps the grimoire of the great wizard merlin would be really more appropriate for me. omg what if the book of imhotep could be bound together with merlin's great grimoire - that is what i want! wishful thinking everyone, wasn't it! hugs to all, :grouphug:
