My first spirit was a meliae nymph, I always liked the faes and lived her energy. I chose her because I though we could be great friends, at that moment I wasn’t really thinking about the technicalities of everything, the tasking et cetera. I just wanted a spirit friend and she had what I want in a friend in general. It was more about her personality then her race or magickal abilities. It worked out really well because I know that she’d rather be seen as a friend (she wants to be treated as I would treat an human she said) then as an asset (she clearly is but yk what I mean ahaha)

My first was a preconjure Djinn. I was not aware of spirit keeping when I kept having dreams about djinn and unusual occurrences pointing to djinns. One day I was shopping on Etsy and I saw a listing for a djinn and experienced my first calling. It was so intense that despite not knowing anything about spirit keeping I purchased the listing. I studied about spirit keeping for the first time while waiting for his arrival.
Now, after getting more familiar with spirit keeping, my first choices are usually DA spirits and entities. Most commonly chosen are vampires. They are helping me to discover and unlock things . I always have this in mind when spending time in a conjurers shop . My second calling after my djinn was a preconjure sanguine vampire.
